Incidence angles.

I have an ARF Yak 54.
After a few shaky flights I discovered a 2* difference in the incidence angles of the split horizonal stab. I haven't checked the wing incidence yet but I was wondering what...

RE: Moki 1.80 muffler

I added a Bisson Sport Muffler and it will now turn the APC 18x8W @ 8400 rpm.

According to my Prop Power Chart it's 4 hp. & 23 lbs of thrust. At least it was a marked improvement.
Flight will...

RE: Super Tartan Twin 77

I ran it just as it is shown in the picture.
Turn the engine over and the top becomes the bottom.
I ran it with the carb and exhaust on the bottom.

RE: Pitts M12 26% plans available soon

I covered with Monocoat and used 3/16" music wire for the cabanes and landing gear.
I soldered some heavy duty electrical lugs to attach the wing.
The wire on the landing gear has been doubled...

RE: Pitts M12 26% plans available soon

I've powered mine with a 1.80 Moki. Although it's short on power it flys very well. My only modification was to use music wire for cabanes and landing gear.

RE: Super Tartan Twin 77

This is the only configuration I could use on this engine for it to run well.

RE: Super Tartan Twin 77

Although there was no mention of exhaust, the Tartan Twin I ran would run the best on the stock exhaust, no nitro, and I believe I ran O.S. F plugs.

Good Luck!

RE: Moki 1.80 muffler

I was trying to purchase a Bisson sport muffler for it, I understand that it will produce more power than a Pitts style.
I went to the Bisson site for purchase but was unable to determine how to...

Moki 1.80 muffler

I'm running a Moki 1.80 on FAI fuel.
It turns 7500 rpm on a Zinger Pro 18x8 and an APC 18x8W.
It has a homemade muffler and I believe it's restrictive.
I'd like to get 8500 rpm on a 18x8 or a...

RE: Help solve problem!

Low rates are 30* and high rate is 45* on the elevator.
I'll lower it and hope it will be cured.

Thanks for the info.

RE: Help solve problem!

I don't have to pull hard. I can go from straight and level flight gently feed in elevator and it will start to veer to the right. The higher the speed the worse it is.
When making a 180* turn, I...

Help solve problem!

I have an Extreme Flight Yak 1.60 with a Futaba 9C and HD 6001 servos on 6 volts.
Every time I pull on the elevator the plane wants to turn right. In a steep left hand turn when I pull the elevator...

RE: Moki 1.80 questions

I don't know what rpm your turning, but it sounds like a lot more than I'm getting.

I've never taken into the consideration of the engine actually being a 1.80, except for the obvious number on...

RE: Moki 1.80 questions

The muffler came with it and I believe it's homemade.

I guess I'll try a wood sport propeller.

Thanks for the info guys!

Moki 1.80 questions

I have a Moki 1.80 w/an APC 18x8W prop running on a 20% castor mix of FAI fuel. It runs, throttles and idles well.
It's hauling a 17# Pits M12 w/a 60" wing.
I'd like a little more performance out...

RE: Newbie question.

Thanks for the site info.
I guess this engine does need high octane gas. I'm an airplane guy at heart and after looking at the prices for this car stuff I'm going to stay an airplane guy.:D

RE: Newbie question.

Ran 3 tanks of fuel through it and it runs good.

Runs better with the restrictive air cleaner removed and it is in need of a pipe.

Can someone turn me on to a site that has performance...

RE: Help me make it fly better.

Pig,
Thanks. I'll see if it will fly straight and level first. I don't think it will be a 3D monster.

BM,
This is a kit. It's the rage with electric power.
I do remember the bare airframe...

RE: Help me make it fly better.

I originally bought this engine for a Westcoast Products 1/4 Midget Mustang. It didn't trip my trigger.
.15 size models are few and far between and I just happened upon this one.
I got disgusted...

RE: Help me make it fly better.

I removed the engine to get some real numbers.
Engine and muffler 10 oz.
Airframe, includes 4 HS-81's servos, Neutron 6 rx, Hydramax 750 mah battery ( 2 oz), switch and charger jack. 21 oz.
4...

RE: Help me make it fly better.

There's nothing left to remove. The landing gear is gone and the carbon pushrods weigh 7 grams. The engine weighs 6.6 oz. If I add structure it will just result in more weight.
