i have recently modded an old dynamite .12 i have it running pretty good now and it does have more power, but it still doesnt have any low end torque how do i add low end torque i currently am...

im already at 24 on clutch bell and i think the spur is 66 tooth, i would like to get it around a 27/65 ratio but the rustler gears dont go that high and the engine may not line up right.

is there any way to up the gear ratio on a nitro rustler i have a 3.3 in it and even with the max pinion and smallest spur they make for it its still geared to low.

what size os engine is it? if its the .12 size they lose there compression fast compared to the .15 size ones. also check the seal on the head a little bit of dirt in there can keep it from pulling...

i just found one of my old hvmaxx 4.5 motors will it work on a vxl system? and would it give more power on that system than the vxl motor that it comes with?

have you checked the crankshaft bearings? i had an engine with a stuck inner bearing that would barrily turn over.
also do you know if the engine was broke in correctly?

i have mine set up with a 24 tooth clutch bell and a 64 tooth spur its the highest that will fit in that truck and its still geared too low.
you will have to shim the engine higher to get the lower...

the exaust port seems to already be as big as the manifold so theres no point in modding it, i cant see anyway of modding the crankshaft since its already as big as the intake on the block unless i...

if the ports are bigger does it help the flow of air or does there have to be a boost to force the air through even with bigger ports?
the bigger chamber did actually work to make my engine stronger...

how do i modify the 40 for more rpms?
i finally got the .12 running and my mod to the combustion chamber did work it has more power now im pushing a firestorm with the highest gear setting hpi makes...

the only engines im trying to mod now are the ones i was about to throw away because of thier condition.

i heard a rumor the other day at my lhs that nitro fuel prices are going way up to due some factory closings and are getting hard to order.

if it uses the same esc as the 4.5 then i would say stay away, the novak motors are usually pretty good but i have had big problems with thier speed controllers they are super expensive and are prone...
