RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Hey Guys,

Anyone know what size spring-pin fits into the rear dogbone/CV at the differential outputs?

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Well, good thing I didn't order one. I can't find any nitro metal gears for my ST anywhere. Has anyone tried the Traxxas in an ST?

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

Aww, you have been running that stock diff for such a long time! My son and neighbor still run stock diffs with their brushless.

You know the key. I good ear will tell you when you got a...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

Hey Cheech,

Nice to hear from you! Good to know you are still driving RCs. You still running the CC Mamba? Let us know how those batteries work. I have been buying the Zippys. Three of them...

RE: Soldering Deans Idea

Like you Moontan, the hardest part for me is keeping my hand (holding the wire) steady while I am waiting for the solder to harden. I usually rest my whole arm and hand on the workbench. Flux,...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

If you are gonna run big kV motors with 3S then everything has to be tight. I mean TIGHT! Tightening everything will wear faster but you have to keep the diff as tight as it will go then back off a...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

I think you are really expecting too much out of your Evader. 5700 with 3S in an Evader is like a 500hp motor in a Honda Civic. Sure it will go fast but things are gonna break.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

Remember when I said I only break stuff when I do something stupid????

Right before I shot that video, I had the 3S in my ST. Of course it doesn't fit right in the Evader and normally I duct...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

Same tranny and diff. Just different gearing. The BX is a little lighter, but I remember a video of Cheech doing wheelies in his ST. It looked similar, only he was faster.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

Can you give a bit more detail? What motor, what ESC? A 2S Lipo should not cause anything to smoke. It is the nearly the same voltage as a 6 cell NiMH.

Don't put it in another car until you...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

Lug, that seems a bit tall. 18- 20 pinion seems right, unless you're going for top speed.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

Welcome to the forum! You should be able to run a 19 turn motor with the stock ESC. I ran a Checkpoint 19t for a long time with our stock ESC's. You shouldn't need to change gear ratio unless you...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

The Novatec does seem to cog a bit at the low end and the fan is noisy because I messed it up when i installed it. The motor runs cool and it is a perfect size for the buggy. I noticed that HK...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

We are still running them. We just passed our three-year Evader anniversary last weekend.

For an update, my ST (and my neighbor's BX) have CC SW 4600, my son's BX is running a Assassin 3600 BL,...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

My son used a paper clip and bent each end down. It has lasted longer than the spring pins ever did. My nephew uses paper clips for all his body clips on his crawler.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

The B2 upgrade is a good setup. Just remember, keep your diff tight, check it often, and then keep it tight again. If you run alot on the asphalt, then keep it even tighter and lay off the doughnut...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

I used the thrust bearing from the diff on my slipper for a while. It worked for a long time until I was running a 3S and forgot to tighten it down. It slipped too much and melted after about 10...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

It depends on how you clean it. When I started cleaning my brushes/commutator with a comm pen and motor cleaner, my comm didn't need cutting as often and it didn't need as much cut off. Before I...

We are all running BL now. My son has...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

I run a 3S with my CC 4600 on occasion but only for speed runs. You need to keep everything tight because with that much power, things will slip. My slipper and diff slip when I am at full...
