RE: Aquacraft EP Hammer Thread

The stock esc won't handle the 11.1v (3S) Lipo (and it's only good for 20amps) but the Blue ProBoat ESC will, however that ESC doesn't have a low voltage cutout to protect the LiPo. You need to add...

RE: Aquacraft EP Hammer Thread

Awhile back, I tried running mine with a Graupner Speed 600 9.6v on 3S LiPo with the Proboat ESC and the Octura 431 prop. The LiPo was a 3300mah, so it ran for about 30 minutes before my LiPo buzzer...

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

Today at the pond two gas boats had a collisionand I got distracted and ran my MR right into the wall of the boat pond and cracked it right at the bow. The cracks and the hole are above the...

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

I thought the turn fins looked a bit odd too. The descr mentions a radio box, but you don't get to see it in the photos. If it doesn't have reverse, not having the boot on the steering linkage is...

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

It's either the stock battery (that comes with the boat) or a LiPo.

But once you run the boat on a lipo, you'll never run it on the stock battery again.

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

Yes, that's the exact one I'm using. Leverage the shipping cost and buy a spare in case you get it wet and somehow ruin it (not that I have done that yet).

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

16 gauge wire would work fine. Anything heavier gets awkward. For the bullets I just used the blue jacketed ones you can buy at Radio Shack, Home Depot, or any auto parts place that you put on with...

RE: NEW AQACRAFT FE HYDROPLANE!!!!!!!

Cheesy sales pitch indeed! What's up with saying the Tenergy cells are made by Sanyo?

I guess it makes sense if you still have some 7-cell packs lying around, otherwise why not stick with lipos...

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

Same seller on ebay has a catamaran also and you can see the drive in the pics of that boat:

RE: sv27 flip

Replacing it with an identical (low-end) 75mhz AM radio won't solve the glitching problem. You need to go FM at least.

RE: sv27 flip

Somebody sells a "self-righting" hatch for the SV27 on ebay. It has a big bump on top that's filled with closed-cell foam. Flip the boat and she flips upright. There was a kid at the pond the...

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

Ouch!

How long before it went 'poof'? First run?

Well, the esc does handle the stock motor and the red Octura x431, running off a LiPo over and over.

In mine, I put some thermal...

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

Whether new or broken-in, NiMh batteries need a trickle charge overnight in order to be completely charged. And this will make the difference between your MR getting on plane or not.

A LiPo...

RE: SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME FIND A BOAT!!

On second thought - since you're a beginner, you might be better off starting with an Aquacraft Hammer. It's a really reliable boat - and just run it on NiMh packs (inexperienced hobbyists should...

RE: SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME FIND A BOAT!!

The instructions you need for that will come with the radio and probably the boat as well.

As a newbie, you'd be better off buying a brushless RTR like that catamaran instead of fooling around...

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio

I had seen that rudder a few weeks ago on ebay, and also the pair of turn fins the same guy sells. Looks like with the new rudder, though, there'd be no room for the turn fin on the right side of...
