RE: Rustler with MSC

The MSCs are cool for keepsakes. Put it on a shelf and look at it as a reminder that ESCs are just so much better. :D

RE: CM36 4600kv Question

Use a VXL motor. They're relatively cheap on Ebay and really don't heat up that much on high voltage with proper gearing. You should see 50+ on 3s with 84/20 gearing with the VXL 3500, and still be...

Assuming you pressed the button?

Which "connections" did you check and how?

RE: Novak problem?

Could be other internal damage to the ESC. Is there a way to reset or reprogram the ESC? Unplug the motor wires and turn the ESC on, then try reprogramming.

RE: HElp !!! i outta i dea with my DX3s on my 1/8 truggy

It sounds like the BEC on the ESC is malfunctioning. You could try running a 6.0v receiver pack, but I think I'd send the ESC back under warranty.

RE: Pro-Match Lipo

With the way their Nimhs perform, I'd say they'll be more than impressive. Get the big ones they'll be worth it. ;)

RE: thorp diff on a monster beetle

Can you flip it? Turn the diff over so the screw tightens as you go forward rather than loosening?

RE: speed gem heat issue please help!

WAY overgeared. The speed gems motors like to run hot anyway, but the gearing sure isn't helping. That is a stout motor though, hitting 200 once wont hurt it too much. Lower your gearing and make...

For $5 it might be worth a try.

RE: New car, HELP!

Have no clue what Tornado EXP is but It sounds like the problem you're having is what's known as "Glitching". Usually its a very short temporary loss of radio signal or the radio picking up...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.

Interesting. Good idea!
How did you reconnect the cvd shafts after cutting them? Kinda looks like solder?

RE: tcmodels.net

Guess that's a No. :)
Never heard of them. The SC truck they sell looks like a Blitz/SC10 knockoff with a Proline body and wheels. :)

Based on Hong Kong. I'm always a bit skeptical of online...

RE: what to do about my slipper clutch?

Well first, I wouldn't do that.
Second, Yes I do understand the difference in power between a MMM and a VXL. I've driven both, it's insane. You don't know me, so don't try to tell me what I do and...

RE: My own NiMh battery observations....

What charge is put back in varies and depends greatly on what is discharged from the pack during running. Maintenance and charge habits can also affect how well a battery charges or discharges.

RE: motor/capacitor question

With 2 directional Escs diodes are a No No.
You want to install 3 capacitors. Though I always forget what size you're supposed to get, they should be soldered on. One from + to can, one + to -,...

RE: Soft pack LiFePo4 OK for racing?

Should be fine. LiFePo4 cells are not the same construction as Lipo soft cells. They have a hard metal case similar to Nimh or Alkaline cells. They won't blow up when you wreck because the chemistry...

RE: will 1/10th slash compete with 1/8th losi 8 2.0

The simple answer is... NO.

Only electric thing that will hang with a nitro buggy is a brushless electric buggy. You're gonna be looking at spending $1000+ for everything, and having a beast...

RE: Burnt up VXL motor

18/90 is a little low for a VXL.

But, there should be no reason to think the motor is shot just because it makes some extra noise. The bearings are about the only thing that will make noise...

RE: what to do about my slipper clutch?

If you drive it right the slipper clutch isn't needed. I run a locked slipper in my Rustler VXL and have stripped a spur gear once. And that spur gear was about 3 years old. Proper gear mesh and...

RE: Rustler VXL Thermal shutdown

Stock gearing is actually pretty high. Are you running on road or off? If Off road drop about 6 or 7 teeth on the pinion gear, that will help. On road try about 4-5 teeth down.

RE: Official Rustler Thread

Auto grease works good for about 3 or 4 runs. Once it gets hot and worked around a few times it thins out. Silicone based grease works better. It will still do the same thing but it takes about 10 -...

RE: Official Rustler Thread

Should be fine until the weather warms up. Depending on the terrain you run on you might want to drop to anywhere from 17 - 20/86. An infrared temp gun really helps when it's cold.

RE: rustler shock problems...

I run 30 in all of my traxxas shocks. Floats over dips and bumps like a cadillac. Also bottoms out pretty good on big jumps, but I never cared much. [8D]
