I put my lipos in a lunch bag. my boat gets water in it too, from the hatch that isnt sealing to well.

Yes you can runemaxx esc; thats what I am using. Just have to take off the heat sinks and add the optional water cooling kit from traxxas. Only difference is that you dont have a mounted on/off...

you can always be cheap, use traxxas 2075. more torque than stock jr, and water proof too!!! there is the old stand by, hitec 645 or even better 5645!

I would try to find a good used losi 1.0, rc8, d8, or jammin x1cr. put money into good motor/pipe and servos. might be a little more than 300, but in the long run, you'll want better
servos/radio...
