I'm not really sure I'll need that much more radio with the high shots because they will still deploy the main chute at 1,300 ft. If it's windy enough to get further away then...

Most of the launches are in farm areas and there are no RC activities at all. The rockets are launched under FAA waivers.

I'll ask around about any RC pilots, but the last one I knew worked...

I was thinking about getting this radio: Ranger 2N w/2-303 Sx, AM, 75MHz

It's a 2 channel AM and comes with the servos. It's really cheap, but would it work for the application I'm considering?...

I don't really have any idea what type of system I need. I would think I only need an air type radio with 2 channels and a half mile range.
