I would say your supplier is incorrect. The sides of my Taylorcraft are white as white can be - top to bottom. Maybe all that he has seen have the yellow/brown stripe, but not all have it.

I use Dubro nylon steering arms (P/N 166) for my Walbro throttle arms. The nylon arm has a brass insert with set screw - works great. $1.70 each.

I finished my Hangar 9 Taylorcraft right before Christmas. Santa brought me an iPod instead of the RCGuys Super Decathlon I asked for. I was good all year too. :)

Got mine finished up tonight. It went together well with no problems and balanced right on the money with no added weight. ;)

If the weather holds I may get to fly it next weekend.

My Taylorcraft will be finished by Saturday and the weather here is supposed to be great too! But our field is closed until Dec. 1st out of courtesy to the deer hunters in the surrounding woods. :(...

Height to the top of the cockpit area - 19 1/2"
Height to the top of the rudder - 17 1/4"
