RE: Retireing cpv3, cp pro2 or honey bee king3

Well, if the heli bug has really bitten you,

and you are willing to put in the time required to learn and build a nice heli,

then maybe the HK250GT is the right choice!

Almost all my heli...

RE: axe CPv3 tail motor problems

Before I switched to brushless motors, here is what I learned re making the tail motors last:

1. Break the motor in by running it before installation using two AA cells in the stock battery...

RE: xe CPv3goesfull throttle

justin_92_92,

What you describe should not be possible. The esc is designed so that the main motor will not get power until the throttle stick is at zero throttle.

If your main motor starts to...

RE: CPv3 3in1 Confussion

Gentlemen,

The stock 3 in 1 actually does 4 things. The three mentioned are the gyro and the esc's for the brushed main and tail motors.
The one not mentioned is the BEC, aka the battery...

RE: axe cpv3 better battery and upgrades

plank420,

Here is a table with the parts I'm using on my brushless Axe, except for the gyro which I have not tried yet. I'm using an MKS 191 gyro which works ok but is too expensive. The HK401B is...

RE: Helimax Axe CP Tail Motor Brushless

Quanyl,

The BA 1230 motor will fit the direct drivemount. The mounting holes are the same as for the stock tail motor, you can use the stock mounting screws.

The shaft on the stock motor...

RE: Helimax Axe CP Tail Motor Brushless

Quany1,

I would not use the Electrifly motor. The specs show it can only handle 2 amps continuous.

I am using the Blue Arrow BL1230 in a geared tail configuration. With any luck a picture will...

RE: should i get it?

It's true, you can get an N60 size motor for around $10, plus shipping.

But the ones I've seen are not the same as the stock Axe tail motor.

The Axe tail motor is a "heavy duty" N60. If you...

RE: should i get it?

youngpilot,

You would be better off buying a used pre-V3 version, one with a geared tail.

You could use the money you'd save to buy a spare tail motor and another battery.

I don't like the...

RE: My CP V3 Came..... Now I Need Some Help

The 1300mAh I use is the:

ZIPPY Flightmax 1300mAh 3S1P 20C

They are out of stock at the moment.

My experience is that it is best to put in your order, in this case a back order. HK...

RE: My CP V3 Came..... Now I Need Some Help

The stock Electrifly 910mAh 15C is not enough battery for the Axe.

And it is WAY overpriced.

Check out the Zippy 1300mAh 20-30C at Hobbyking.com.

I've been using 1300's on my 3 Axes...

RE: Axe CP Heli- Replace ESC with lipo compat? Broken part identification? (pic)

markm75

Using a lipo had nothing to do with frying your 3 in 1 board.

Nor did "overdischarging" the lipo.

You either have an intermittent short circuit or there was a component failure due...

RE: Axe CP Heli- Replace ESC with lipo compat? Broken part identification? (pic)

I have been using LIPO's with my version 1 Axe, that came with NiMH battery, for a couple of years. The original 3 in 1 works just fine with LIPO's.

In fact, the version 1 manual states "The...

RE: Axe CP Heli- Replace ESC with lipo compat? Broken part identification? (pic)

markm75,

All the info you need is available in this forum and at rcgroups.

In summary, the stock Axe esc's are compatible with 11.1v lipo packs, the 3s packs.

My opinion: the NIMH pack is...

RE: how many times has you tail motor burned out?

In a little over a 1000 flites, I've gone thru 13 tail motors.

My opinions:

The cheaper tail motors do not last as long as the stock ones.

Put a layer of household glue over the wire...

RE: heli gyro for cpv3

Gents,

In the vein of "been there, done that":

I bought a Futaba GY240 for my Axe. It worked fine, but 1) it costs way too much, and 2) it's too heavy.
I would go with the Telebee <span...

RE: Bought a new CP V3 what do I need to know?

CarGuy7a,

It's going to get worse, the odds are.

If you don't crash on the first flite and break something, it's likely your tail motor will burn out in
a very few flites.

You can ease the...

RE: trying to learn how to fly axe cp

If the three links connecting the servos to the swash are too short, the...

Or you could read all the posts in this...

poison,

Check out the 1300 mAh lipos at www.hobbyking.com (http://www.hobbyking.com). They are the lease expensive I've found.

RE: cp and cp3

poison,

I think the 3 in 1 board is also different. The v3 has a built in lipo protection module.

I'm a big fan of the geared tail. You may find your tail motor on the v3 gets very hot & it ...
