What happens to folks that buy this plane, get started, make good progress, then abandon the project. Has anybody finished one of these?

That alleged incident between the tanker aircraft and a football sized drone at 3800 ft would have had to be a FPV UAV. It's pretty difficult to see a 3m sailplane over 2500 ft and that's a heck of...

I was trying to get a read on how many of us has registered. But since you have registered and asked me my point, I'll tell you that it is typical of how the government operates - pass more layers...

Thanks for your reply. That number might be "in the neighborhood", but it is pretty round, so I don't know whether to believe the government's number or not.

sUAV Registration who's done this?

I'm just wondering how many might have registered your (self) with the FAA. If you have, post and say so. If you haven't, I don't recommend a public admission; just don't reply.

The Spectra and Spirit don't have sheeting on the outer panels and this makes them more prone to tip stall. However, judicious use of washout will pretty much eliminate that issue. The other thing...

I would certainly like to see a finished plane and a flight report. I don't have a kit, so I can't really contribute.

Rich, just now reading this thread. I think I've seen this plane before but I forget exactly what it is. How about refreshing my memory on that.

RE: Oly111

I think it flys pretty good. I built flaps into mine and mix the flaps to ailerons (which it does not have) to get a little better turn initiation. I really like and recommend that mod, but it is...

RE: Cutting in Flaps ~ Any tips?

If you are looking for landing control only, just use the trailing edge sheeting width. You will need to put some 1/4" stock in there for the leading edge of the flap. If you are going to use the...

RE: A not-so-newbie returning with questions...

Lots of 2.4 ghz stuff out there and Futaba has a good system. So, depending on what you want in the way of radios, you pretty much have a wide open field. I would suggest for reasonable capability...

RE: AIRTRONICS LEGEND

BTW, the Legend may come back into production if Aerosphere ever gets off the ground with their business. One can only hope.

Here is a picture of my two when they were both airworthy. The red one on the left is stretched (built by Jack Womack) and the one on the right is undergoing modifications to a V-tail. An...

RE: anyone flying a Dynaflite Butterfly?

I went to the Dynaflite website. The other one is the Piece-O'-Cake and 72" span.

Evidently both of these designs are popular enough that they are still in production even though the...

RE: anyone flying a Dynaflite Butterfly?

They should make a nifty electric powered sailplane with minor modification. After all the roots of the plane is a sailplane (Windrifter, I believe) or the smaller drifter II. They made two...
