well i just got back in from the test run with the lipo and all i can say is wow... what a difference. wheelies and top speed :D what more could i ask for. now i just have to wait for my mamba...

yes, hobbycity def has great deals on lipo batteries. thanks for pointing them out for all of us. they actually have a new option where we can have an email sent for when the batteries come back into...

after reading everyones posts, you all have me set on using lipo's... id be very happy with 55 mph and mid 60's would be great but id have to buy a 3s for that. is it possible to purchase a 3s lipo...

john01374- i took two matched battery packs and discharged them on my trinity dyna pro digital discharger to make sure all the cells were properly matched. i then took one pack apart and added one...

no nothing became hot but i didnt run it long enought to really tell, maybe 3 minutes. the pinion and spur are the stock ones that come on the slash. id look but im at work till 11...

i actually think the battery i was using was just a 3600 7 cell nimh. if i remeber right i took two 6 packs apart and made a nine cell at first. the vxl wouldnt handle it so i then made it an 8 cell...

i do no that my lipo is a 5000 2s 30c... im actually at work so i cant test the lipo now. ill be sure to let you all know what happens when i try the lipo... im hoping thats the problem. whats a good...

i can only hope that maybe there is something wrong with the 7 cell battery. if not then i have issues with the sidewinder... is it possible it could be a set up issue. i just did the initial set up...

well like i said i was not impressed with the velineon system... im not going to be doing any off road with the slash. just playing around on a huge parking lot. the 5700 should be ok for that...

there is no binding. this was actually the first run on the truck. i just bought it a few days ago. the wheels spin freely, the pinion and spur mesh is correct. im not new to rc's. i currently own 31...

the only reason im looking to go a little cheap is because this is my first heli and i know im gonna go through some blades. at 50 bucks a pop, i can see that gettting pretty pricey pretty fast.
