Is using a pinion puller the only practical means to remove the pinion
gear from an Astro 25? There's not much room behind the gear to position
the pulling spur -- would heating the gear loosen...

According to local sources, this sudsy event occurred out at Hanscom AFB in a civil aviation hanger. The hangar's fire ex system went off and that's what you're looking at -- I can find out more...
