I have had some success using silver solder to fix broken nipples on some air cylinders. You may want to consider that to fix the nipple on your fill valve.

That is a trick I picked up from someone else at some point.
You access the wires from the engine compartment hatch. I would have done the same setup with the main hatch if I had found...
