I owned a CRRC 40 engine at one time. A couple of pointers. Make sure you change the plug out to a NGK BPMR6F plug. Also the stock ignitions can be hit or miss, so you might want to...

My PTE36R is on an Aero Works 35cc Extra 260. I have flown the airplane with a CRRC40 and a BME50. The CRRC 40 just did not pull the 14.5 lb airplane around well and the BME50 pulled it great, but...

Thats pretty good then. I think a zinger prop is a little more load than xoar prop. I have both a xoar 20x8 and 20x6 lying around that i will try and run in a couple of days.

Rocketman,

6300 and even 7100 sound a little low for a 20X6 prop on this engine. You sure it was a 20X6? I got 8700 from this engine on a Mejzlik 20X6 and my DLE30 will turn it around 7900 rpm.

I was wondering also why you had to pay for an ignition. I thought everything was under warrenty for one year.

About the middle of the page, right above the digital tach.. $7.95.. It is for a Rcxel, but will work on a CH ignition. Comes with universal bracket and sensor...

Mark,

I used a degree wheel that I purchased here on RCU. Yes, you would assume that the mounting holes are drilled in the same spot. The difference could be in the hub mounting also.

Tom,

Sounds like a good idea on the muffler. After my second run, I torqued the muffler bolts again while it was hot. I will fly it this way and see how it works..
