Not that I'm any expert but my first incidence situation happened on a 30cc size Sbach. Pitchy-Twitchy and wouldn't stay in trim as speed varied.
I had to first correct cg...it was tail heavy....

I am also going LiFe this spring, after what I consider to be unsatisfactory life span of NiMh packs.
My 'old technology' NiCd's last longer than the newer NiMh's, and I definitely notice the self...

Haven't had a look inside my DLE30 yet but I can't imagine being able to turn the jug 90 degrees would work.
Carb yes. Jug, No.
Ports and passages aren't going to line up, to my way of thinking....

The guys here talked me into a good digital servo for throttle control on my first gasser...30CC Sbach.
I popped in the HiTech HS5485HB on 6V battery, well back in the fuse with good old Golden Rod...

I built a competitor to this...Slipstream 30cc Sbach 342, with the DLE30. Came out at 11.4 lbs, and was tail heavy with two rear ele. servos and linkage, etc.
I eventually had to give up flying it...

He's THE MAN: did a ton of development on this engine with the mfgrs, etc.
My DLE30 v2 gave me a few deadsticks too while breaking in and getting...

OK so spring is sprung, the grass is rising, and the Sbach/DLE30 combo maidened this monday without incident.

Don't forget the option of knock-off trainers at ridiculously low prices either...NitroPlanes for one offer a number of these.
I had the 70" Trainer 60 and it was a puppy with an OS55. Superbly...
