Basically its a new version which is exactly the same as the old one except for new but still crappy electronics, better plastic linked tracks but still uses the same old sprocket with centre drive...

I have a Hobby Engine Abrams and it can be done easily. The barrel is joined down the top and bottom by a seam which once you take the tip of the barrel off, pryes apart quite easily but go slow....

Exactly, thats what I used to use until it konked out due to the big motors I use. Like you say with an extra board at least you can fire on the move. So what is it that actually triggers the sound,...

Oh I see thank you for clarifying. I've done the transmitter mod so in effect I'm still using the k button. So can you keep the cannon sound with this mod or do you lose it along with the track...

No joy. It seems this mod doesn't work if you want the cannon sound by pressing the k button. The tank recoils no matter how you configure it.

I think you're right dirtybird. I wonder if its a matter of just splicing together one or two of the wires instead of all three?

Quick update guys, turns out it was the recoil blocker I was using that blew and not the rx18. Goes to show if you use a fan these boards can handle quite a lot now. Going to try and do the 2 x rx18...
