RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

I used water based acrylic paint through an airbrush for painting my SU-26. However, when I tried to overcoat the decals with an acrylic clear spray can, I had the melting. I understand that even...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

It is - with some sanding and trimming. I was having fun until I tried to seal the decals with acrylic satin spray can - melted the foam around the decals....so I didn't finish with the other...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

The easiest and most effective adapter is one made from heat shrink tubing: get a small wire/drill bit that matches the 1.5mm shaft; shrink successive layers of heat shrink tubing onto the shaft...

RE: Mini P-51D from Horizon/Parkzone

It's past time to leave this thread way too far off topic.

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

I'm not nearly the stick man that GoldCraft is, but I haven't had any trouble in light wind so I agree that it's definitely NOT just an indoor flyer!! I'll bet geeter's friend was using the stock...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

I've put over forty flights on the Sukhoi with the same heat-shrink-adapter-5043-prop. After getting a good tight fit of the adapter into the prop (I used four layers of tubing), the prop merely...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

You could always wait for the Hobby Lobby 40% off coupon and get it there - many sizes.

5043 and I'd like to reiterate that the heat shrink adapter is the simplest and cheapest way to get a...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

This appears to be the saver of choice:

http://www.bsdmicrorc.com/index.php?productID=665

However, given the light weight (momentum) of the airplane, I don't think a prop saver is really...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

I just use a thin wire through the prop adapter - not that much friction at all. I balanced six 5043s, and each required just a little scotch tape on the rear tip of a blade (No, after around thirty...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

When I replaced the prop with the 5043, and made a new foam spinner (lighter than the original), I found I could mount the battery in the foam cutout slightly back from midway to get the CG around...

RE: Mini P-51D from Horizon/Parkzone

I have a paper airplane P-51 sheet that I may resize to the PZ Mustang, and make a simple razorback add on for grins....

Great - looking forward to the new video. Where did you get the battery? I'll have to get an extra one (or two) for the coming P-51....

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

Impressive flying, GoldKraft!

What's the overall impact of the 240mah Zippy - longer flying time, obviously, but does the higher C rating translate into more power? Does it tax the stock motor?...

RE: Mini P-51D from Horizon/Parkzone

David,

Since I have several PZ airplanes, I have as many chargers - but I only need one or two. In that regard, what's the chance of your offering the airplane sans charger (for your loyal,...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

David,
I appreciate your monitoring this thread - nice to get the word straight from the top!

In that regard, I was surprised you didn't comment on the Sukhoi's "apparent" nose heavy and prop...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

Very, very unlikely in my opinion, but the "safer" option, of course, is to undo the fuselage top and hold the gear with your finger.

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

I left this out on my previous post:

To unscrew the prop, you have to hold the prop shaft/motor gear while turning the prop counterclockwise. The easiest way to keep the shaft/gear from turning...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone

I assume you mean in performance....

(Note - I'm an outdoor flyer)

Basically, the plane is faster, which equates to it: being more stable, especially in wind; having much, much better...
