RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

Ouch!! [X(][X(] I guess maybe 40% nitro is the limit for this engine. I've run two gallons of 30% (with 20% oil) through mine without problems. What's the oil content of your 40%?

I've had...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

I've been able to get mine started every time using 16.8V and a slightly loosened glow plug. One it fires up I tighten the glow plug. 24V may get it going without loosening the plug...

Also,...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

Big Cap Guy, sorry I didn't get a picture of the radio box for you, assume you have your boat at this point. I'm using a 6.0V hump pack in mine, should also be room for a flat 6V pack.

Make...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

I'm actually considering a conversion to FE...there is a local club here in Katy that meets twice a month to run their boats, lots of knowledge in the group to help me make it happen. I think the...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

On the flex shaft, from the factory the end designed for the collet is squared off and the other end that goes into the prop shaft is round. The two set screws in the prop shaft were slipping on the...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

I've been meaning to post latest speed...42.3...which is the highest yet. I was running 15% nitro with an OS A3 plug. On the same day, I had about 4-5 ounces of 30% left from the last can, so I...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

I think the break-in instructions say no nitro. I ran my neighbor's 15% for the first tank, and then 2 gallons of 30% after that...no problems with my engine.

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

Ok, new top speed...41.4mph using Octura X450/3 and 15% Nitro!!! I couldn't believe it when I looked at the GPS. I knew it was running faster, but not another 2mph faster :D

Two main changes...

RE: Uniflow fuel tank set-up

Thanks Ram Jet and iron eagel!

Ran it some more on the stand tonight and low speed was too rich...seems to be idling and revving great now. I am using muffler pressure, and don't have a check...

RE: Uniflow fuel tank set-up

Looking for help with a new uniflow setup on a boat. I'm running a Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5 boat, and have noticed leaning toward the end of my runs. In the constant pursuit of perfection, trying...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

Latest numbers on the new props:
Prather 235 - 36.2mph
Octura X450/3 - 39.6mph

Tried the Prather 235 one more time...still seems to be a bit much for it.

I couldn't be happier with the...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

Did some prop testing tonight...weather sucked, but got a few minutes on the two new props:
Prather 230 - 36.8mph (Stock prop 1.9x3.0)
Prather 235 - 35.5mph (2.0x3.2)
Octura X450/3 - 36.9mph...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

RKS1949, you're correct...from first vid to second, I adjusted tabs up and strut up at the same time...will adjust the tabs back to neutral before next run. You might find you like the clutch...I...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

Update...

1) Probably have 1/2 gal of fuel through it now
2) Except for the servo that I screwed up (operator error), still no issues with the boat. I've swapped stock servos for Futabas.

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

Here are a couple of pics of the strut/shaft setup. This could be a common design for all I know.

A broken flex cable would probably not cause you to lose the prop shaft/drive dog/prop. It's...

RE: Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

Hesco,

Thx for the tip on stopping. Definitely aware the cooling stops when the boat stops...if I do stop, it's usually only for a secord or two. Good idea to keep that to a minimum, esp...

Thunder Tiger Outlaw 7.5

I’ve seen very little information about this boat anywhere on the web…it’s a relatively new release. One thread here: New guy, New Boat. Have a look at this... I picked one up recently at my...
