RE: HET F-18 Advise

UPDATE:

So Iput my MiniFan 480 together with the Mega 16/15/2, and connected it up to a 3S1P4400mAh 20CLiPo through a Jeti 40 Amp ESC. Holy smokes the thing drew upwards of 90 amps, and over 1000...

RE: VQ P-40 Maiden Flight

I just cut the spar out of mine and didn't put any additional U-bracing in there. I have half a dozen flights on her and still looks and flies like new. No indications of stress or fractures in...

RE: UltraFly P-51 with Flaps & Retracts

I have had my P-51 in the air many times. A couple observations:

I am using the included FRIO 10/10 motor with the Apollo 25 AMP esc, powered by a TANIC 3S 2200 LiPo. No heating problems and...

RE: ultrafly p51 retracts

I had no problems with the shafts rotating; however both of my retracts failed to lock in the up or the down position. This lead to me frying a servo and since then I slopped a bunch of CA into the...

RE: Wattage Decathlon Power Setup

Yes the AXI is an outrunner. My concern is it is too much motor for that plane. It would probably do very well with a 9x6 prop.... but the thing would be very fast! Maybe I could cut down on the...

RE: Ultrafly F16 motor options?

hah! that's funny.... I just ordered my first 3DFoamy... I opted for the F-15. I already have an F-18 EDF, so I went for the 15 just to have some variety in my hangar....

I also ordered a new...

RE: Wattage Decathlon Power Setup

Yeah I have a watt meter, but I don't think removing the gearbox is an option. It's a planetary gearbox, and if I remove it along with the pinion gear, there isn't much of a shaft to slip a prop...

Thanks for the info. I was gonna recess the screw, but I thought I'd check here first just in case I missed something in the manual.

RE: Ultrafly F16 motor options?

I got mine just about finished. I got the D/13/32 brushless with gearbox... hopefully it will fly well but not TOO fast! I fly in a relatively small field and if it's too fast, man I will go nuts!...

RE: DC 3 / C-47

I've go the DC-3. It's an "okay" plane... worth the $150, but not much more. It comes with the motors, including all the wiring pre-done so that's nice. It could use more power though. Dual speed...
