Thanks Ratpower, If you use the stock gear count 19/48 the fg gears will work, if you change the ratio you need to change mounts.

Thanks again lars the steel pinion that daves lists is for the layshaft ( to the diff ) the one I need is on the clutch bell mates to the 48 tooth gear and yes I have ordered ...

Thats funny usually the flute and or venturi helps the engine run better guess in your case it was at the wrong place? how does it pull your funtana?;)

Well...Ive always used SIG AA.......But Bakers Degummed Ive heard is very good....I think any refined and degummed is probably good;)

Thanks....The engine I have I believe is broken in...and yes I too also believe in castor...I use Byron 10% fuel it is a castor blend but I always add more castor to it for this type of engine.....

Thanks....Great info...I was thinking mabe a 13x6 wood would do the job for me....I do have other idlebar plugs...I think they are FOX plugs... Just have a bunch of the old glowbees ...just thought I...

Not sure though about the carb..does the barrel move in and out on the MKX C carb?...it does on this one.....also whats a good prop range for this model 78?.....Some REALLY good info on Dukes...

Wellllll.....The muffler has tabs on it..exhaust port is rectangular NOT drilled for the baffle...The carb is a two needle rotary drum style..back plate is polished?? for some reason....not sure...
