does everyone know that those little k&n air filters are actually breathers for v-8 engines. you can go to autozone and pick one up for about 8-10 bucks!

hpi savage engine mod (easy)

the air intake diameter is .275. and if you don't have access to a "machine shop" you can buy a .005" shim to replace the .010" that comes stock.

take the head off the engine, remove the .010" spacer have .005" of material taken off the bottom, then remove all parts from the carburetor and bore out to .375". I am a machinist and also own a hpi...
