TechyJoe - John is right, the water gets in through where to 2 halves meet and aremoulded together. Even with the original Kyosho I got it came with the excess platic from the mould still around it....

With painting the board, I sanded it back with fine sand paper. Then sprayed with Tamiya primer (I made a little mistake by using a grey primer which dulled the orange colour down...
