wasnt planning on using the homemade coil, i knew i was going to fry it pretty quick because i wound it with a drill and i didnt insulate between the layers.

Yes, i was using a homemade sparkcoil, im only using it for testing though. I have a factory-made sparkcoil on the way.

I wound the HV-coil with the specs on the schematic, same wire sizes/amount...

OK, i just re-tested evything and it is still putting out way over 600v while sparking. I burnt out the spark coil i made testing it.

I tested the voltage with everything hooked up as it would be during operation, but i will go and set everything up again from the beginning to make shure.

I just got done testing my HV side of the circuit and i am getting almost 800V from the coil. The highest voltage my components (capacitor & SCR) can handle is 630V. What can i do to reduce this to...
