on your list I would say stick with the Impulse 31 or Miss Geico. I have not driven either, but have my eyes on the Impulse for my next boat. The Genesis hull is good, everything that comes in the...

My Gen runs Leopard 4092 2080Kv, T180 esc, 4s, on an octra X445 and I get 78.8km/h. It can take a bigger prop, but I like it running nice and cool the way it is.

RE: HK Aquaholic, Relentless, Hornet F1

The small bolt (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=11244&aff=194830) has had good things said about it and it cheap too. It is quite small, but still fiberglass, and...

RE: HK Aquaholic, Relentless, Hornet F1

The Genesis is some what garbage with the stock running gear [from HK].  It should however work all day long if taken care of and run on 3s.  But it is slow for the hull size.  For lots of info and...

RE: HK Aquaholic, Relentless, Hornet F1

If you are looking for something you can just throw in the water and zip around with, without trouble, look at different deep-v hulls.  They will be slower then any other type of hull with the same...

RE: Can i put a NI-CD in parallel with a NI-MH???????

for discharge, you would be fine.  Batteries tend to work it out fine in parallel.  I would charge them separately though.

RE: picking the right electric motor

like 785 said, Kv depends on your voltage.  What is the Max [cell/volts] your ESC can handle?  Then see what Kv you need to spin about 30,000rpm (Kv = rpm/volt)<div>
</div><div>If you run the 752Kv...

RE: Genesis Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull (1045mm) from HK

You may want to check out the "bare hull" options listed above. No sence wasting mony on crap running gear to have to upgrade it right away. Anyhow, to answer your question. . .

Under the canopy,...

RE: James's Electric Speed Boat Build

I am not builder or expert but. . .<div>
</div><div>1. don't bend the drive line (brass tube) in an S, just give it a gentle curve, less is better.  Mount the motor on an angle in the boat so that...

RE: Water Cooling Rudder Intake

make sure the ports in the rudder are clear, sometimes (especially from HK) there can be little flakes of metal blocking the water.

RE: Battery or charger problem?

a better charger is worth every penny as it MAY prevent loss of more cells.  It sounds to me as though cell #1 is already lost due to the large voltage fluctuations.  This may be as a result of the...

RE: V-22 Osprey on Amazon???

Actualy it's like a V22 Osprey - that "article" you linked says, released Autumn 2010 - they have been out for a while now, but like all RC modles over a grand, they are rare, but available.

RE: Motor selection advice/help

If you are not looking for any real speed, go with brushed motors.  That way you can wire all 3 motors to 1 controller.

RE: prop shaft help

if your wooden drive shaft lasts more then a few minutes, the water would cause it to swell, stick, and burn up the motor.  Don't waste your time and money.  Take some time, save some money and buy...

RE: Hobby King GT-2 Transmitter/Reciever

I use the Turnigy GTX3 (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=23165&amp;aff=194830) from HK and it's great for a cheap radio!

RE: ESC general question

just to add my $0.02 - If you need to run a longer wire, you can, without issue.  BUT you must have an appropriate size wire.  Heat is based on the resistance of the wire over length.  If you look at...

RE: Villain ex dual brushless

I should have mentioned that - yes it has issues.  It can be done and once the motors are spinning it will continue to run fine.  But at startup, every now and then (like 1 out of 6 times) one motor...
