If your friends all have scalers then you would probably have more fun with one of those. Scalers are super capable, but unfortunately can't do some of the same things that a comp-style crawler can....

The rc4wd rig you listed is a comp rig based around Bully 2.2 axles. If you're planning on comping...a rig with Bully axles is a nice, strong choice. Again, if you want scale looks, that's a terrible...

Aftermarket tires do work on the creeper stock beadlocks. I've got a buddy who used panther cougars on his for over a year until he upgraded to aluminum wheels and I've seen plenty of other people...

Can't say I blame you there. I only paid around $40 shipped for my motors when I got them, so not a bad deal at all. If you want more wheelspeed, I would suggest 35t instead of 45.
