RE: choosing a servo! i need help

I just assembled an Escapade .61 and used the Hitec 5485HB servos, the're Karbonite digital standard servos.  After about 20 flights, one of the aileron servos failed.  I replaced it with a Futaba...

RE: Escapade or stinger 2

I have had several Escapade 40's, and one Escapade 60.  They are easy to fly, but the 40 size lands somewhat hot.  For around $100/ARF you can't go wrong, just be sure you're confident flying a...

RE: Tech-Aero IBEC

I don't feel comfortable flying a gas engine without a means to shut it down in case of an emergency. IBEC or kill switch, it's still "another device to go bad", but I think a necessary one.

I...

RE: ARF Glue question

I did a test of gluing a Robart pin hinge into a scrap piece of balsa with a premium carpenter's wood glue.  24hrs later, I can't pull it out for the life of me.  I'll bet if I grab it with pliers...

Tech-Aero IBEC

Anyone using this? Opinions please.

I have an Aero-Works Extra 300 and DLE-20 on the way, and plan to use this IBEC. I've used the Rcexel ignition kill before, but the ignition had it's own...

RE: New 60-90 Extra 260

Anyone flying this plane or the extra 300 with a DLE-20? I ordered the plane and motor yesterday, should have them by the middle of next week. I'm going to use it as a sport plane- I don't fly 3D, so...

RE: ARF Glue question

I don't thin it except when I use epoxy for fuelproofing- gluing parts together, no.  I'm not in a hurry with the next one- I'm considering replacing the CA hinges with pin hinges, probably gonna use...

ARF Glue question

I've built 7-8 ARF's so far, always using 30min epoxy to glue the horiz/vert stabs in place. Anyone see an issue using a wood glue instead? It seems to me that cleaning off the excess glue would be...

RE: OS 46/55 bearings bad again!

I have a 46AX with about 8 gallons through it. No problems, bearing or otherwise. I also run Magnum, TT, and ST. I usually use Omega 15%, run them dry, and no after-run oil unless they are gonna be...

RE: Tell me what kind of car you drive

Personal cars are a '95 Pontiac Trans Am and a '02 Ford F-150 Supercrew FX4.

Most of my driving is for work with a company car- a 2010 Dodge Nitro.

RE: Guess the Magnum deals are long gone!!!

Current pricing is more in line with what other brands of four-strokes sell for i guess, other than O.S.O.S. engines overall are much higher quality and they run great, but they are grossly...

Guess the Magnum deals are long gone!!!

Last winter, Hobby People had sales on the Magnum 4-stroke engines- about $80.00 for the .52, and $150.00 for the .91. I bought a .52 and two .91's. Turns out they are excellent running engines, and...

RE: Flying from Snow

Nice pic of the Escapade- that is my plane of choice for the winter, with the Du-Bro skis. I bought another set of 5/32" axles for the skis, so I just remove the two axle nuts and bolt on another...

Hitec Aurora 9!  Have a Spektrum DX6i, and a low end Airtronics 2.4.  I like the Hitec best.

flight attitude question

Iv'e noticed that some of my planes look like they are "crabbing" through the air- they fly straight after they are trimmed, but seem to be skewed slightly. I was wondering if this is more a function...
