RE: Personal injuries.

Well, my Blade 400 has tried to take my head off. But, my cat like reflexes saved me from my cow like thumbs.

So far the injury has been limited only to my ego. As a seasoned fixed wing pilot,...

RE: Blade 400 & GY401 Gyro

Sounds like what happened to me when I had the gyro switch 'norm' instead of 'reverse' after I installed a JR 3400 for the tail rotor. I flipped the switch and it's working properly now.

RE: Blade 400 Purchase

I'm sure that all the T-rex owners will chime in to point out that a comparison between the B400 and anything with an "Align" sticker on it is tantamount to blasphemy.

I went from a BCX2...

RE: I HAVE A FEELING...-

If you have access to a postal scale, weigh each blade and note any differences. Then, add some tape to the lighter blade until it weighs the same as the other.

RE: I HAVE A FEELING...-

Try removing the blades and spin up the shaft to see if the vibration is still present.

I'm presuming that you have balanced your blades?

RE: I HAVE A FEELING...-

>>>Caveat to my previous post: if the blade screws are so tight that they do not allow the blades to rotate freely with a little friction, then that could be a contributer to excess vibes...

RE: I HAVE A FEELING...-

I'm certain that more knowledgeable folks will chime in on this one but at first glance, I would say no.

Many other factors contribute to excess vibration.

Unless the holes have become...

RE: Blade 400 + JR DS3400G gyro servo = tail flexing?

I flipped the aft mount bracket 180 deg and everything lined up perfect. In fact I used the top and bottom screw bosses for the forward mount flange. it seems the E-Flight designed the ship to accept...

RE: Blade 400 + JR DS3400G gyro servo = tail flexing?

I'm also interested in your thoughts on the 401 with this servo. Please consider a flight report after you fly it.

Thanks.

RE: Blade 400 + JR DS3400G gyro servo = tail flexing?

At first, like you may have done, I simply matched the ball link location from the stock servo arm and it was mashing pretty good at the ends of the travel so I pretty much knew that I needed to...

RE: Blade 400 + JR DS3400G gyro servo = tail flexing?

Torque,
I have the identical set up. I first tried limiting the travel with the endpoint adj on the (DX6i) transmitter and the servo transit time went in the toilet. This is caused by the servo...

Thanks Torque. I actually tried this when I got home this afternoon and it worked perfect. I hopped on the laptop and read your post. You beat me to it.

RE: Blade 400 rudder servo DS3400G

Funny, I tried turning my gyro down thinking the faster servo would somehow need less... whatever.

I'm going to play with the servo travel by moving the ball link in on the servo horn and...

Blade 400 rudder servo DS3400G

I just set up my new B400 with a (ds3400G) rudder servo and I'm having some set up issues.

When I spool up the motor after a second or two the tail just looses it and spins the whole plane...

RE: DA-50R RunIn Oil?

GalenB-

Thanks. I actually found it (Lawn Boy) at the ACE hardware in Bridle Trails shopping center. And, not five miles away, I found an Amsoil dealer and bought 32 Oz. of Saber Pro. So, now...

RE: DA-50R RunIn Oil?

I have had a heck of a time locating the two "breakin" oils specifically mentioned in the DA manual. Unfortunately for me, all of the bike shops and auto parts stores in my area seem to only carry...

RE: Forming charge for NiMH flight packs with Super brain 977.

U-dUd,

Killer info! I really apreciate the data on the MRC 969/977.

I think I will have the right hardware (for my particular needs) when my additional Accucycle arrives.

Thanks.

RE: Forming charge for NiMH flight packs with Super brain 977.

U-dUd,

In the Marketplace you're selling:

A Digital Piranha charger, a Triton AND an Accucycle Elite? You list all with the reason for selling as "do not use".

Interesting. Do you...

RE: Forming charge for NiMH flight packs with Super brain 977.

U-dUd,

I read the Triton Manual on line briefly and it appears to have a C/10 break-in mode for Nimh (though limited to 600 min as opposed to 14-16 hours) Yet you stated, and JNorton agreed,...
