RE: Sterling Waco SRE

It's still in about the same state as when last worked on. This project is on the back burner until I find the time to finish it.

RE: Scratch building 105

No wonder, I was curious how you got so much done. If I didn't have this pesky thing called a job I could finish mine in record time.

Just Kidding, good luck in your new venture!

RE: C121 Constellation Project

Have not spent much time with the project this month. My grandmother has lymphoma and was recently moved to hospice. But plan to pickup where I left off when this is over.

Cheers!

RE: C121 Constellation Project

Okay the previous idea was a bust. I cut all the planking off the section with the twist and have all my alignment marks ready to resheet. I have to install the bracing first but it should go pretty...

RE: C121 Constellation Project

After thinking about the problem in the back, I think I have a solution that will be an easy fix. I'm going to cut a new former then cut it in half, mount it to the existing former that is off by...

RE: C121 Constellation Project

I didn't hack off the whole nose section, just behind F21 is where I cut off the old one.

I then glued on a new nose section former 1/2" bigger than the old one. I also moved it 1/4" to the left...

RE: C121 Constellation Project

Okay, this is where I'm at today. The nose section is pretty much done, but it has a few issues. I'm going to chop off the nose section and redo it. The angles are all wrong on the top section of the...

RE: C121 Constellation Project

Hi F-A-P, the bellypan I was referring to is the radar radome that fits between the main gear on the belly of the connie. Sorry that was a pretty obscure description.

And Yes, the D-ALEM is the...

RE: C121 Constellation Project

If you look back at post #18 you will see a picture of the plane I am building, mine will have the short nose and the wing tanks. But not the belly pan or the fin on top. Maybe on my next one I will...

RE: C121 Constellation Project

I'm away this week on a business trip, so the Connie will have to wait until I return. I did get the nose section finished last weekend, next up is the cockpit area.

RE: Scratch building 105

I thought you already had a set custom made for this project. Or was it just the nose gear you had made?:)

RE: C121 Constellation Project

Hi Frank, if you look at the picture in post 80 that you posted a few days ago. It shows inboard and outboard rudders with about the same overhang. If you look at this picture it shows that the...

RE: C121 Constellation Project

Okay, I need help again. On one set of plans the center rudder is flush with the horizontal stab. On the other set the center rudder hangs over a bit. Is this the difference that the 18" made on the...

RE: Scratch building 105

Itlooks like your horizontal stabilizeris flat all the way to the tips. I'm not trying to be critical but I know your shooting for a scale model also. On the scale version the wing tips are offset a...
