The wing struts are there to stop the wing from breaking in half. A lot of us have modded the struts or in my case I made new ones using a steel fishing leader kit.

The 10x8 prop is not to be flown for extended periods. IE. more than 10 minutes. It's in the instructions that come with the float kit which BTW includes a 10x8 prop

How did you drain the batteries? Taking LiPo's below 3.0v / cell is a no no, that will wreck them.

Keep in mind that there's been a number of reports that the DX8 doesn't play nice with the Orange Rx's.

Glenstr, I have a .20 on a 64 oz plane, so honestly that 480 is over kill in a very big & possibly bad way.

another flight sim to check out would be RC Desk Pilot. I have it, along with an $8 adapter from Hong Kong so that I can use it with my DX5e

.5 to 1.5 volts?????? how about amps. The PZ charger doesn't charge very fast and is a battery cooker. Buy something better, even the "genuine" Imax B6 is a better charger than the PZ one.

If your plane came with the lithium polymer batteries it's meant to be propped with a 9x6. Also, the batteries last a lot longer when the cub is flown @ 1/2 -2/3rd throttle.

If you're not in a big hurry, I'd suggest trying hobbyking - then again they now have a warehouse in the US. So that might be a good place to try.

I definitely won't, I'm thinking about going out in our 0*f weather and flying under a bridge. Just because I can ;) Besides, the SC flies better in the cooler denser air, just keep the batt's warm...

The cowboy flies! With a friend on the sticks, we got the cowboy into the air. Luckily, the ground control @ Heathrow in London hasn't heard we're doing a maiden on snow covered ground ;)

Keeping the weight on the back of the ski's stops them from tricking my ol' cowpoke into doin' a half pike into an igloo ;) (in short it stops them from diggin' into the 1st snow bank it comes...

not much warmer here -15 or so @ 2 pm, haven't looked since. Wind's supposed to crank it up a notch tomorrow to 20 to 30 mph. So, flyin's out til the wind stops. BTW, got my lights from Home...
