RE: Front Yard 3D+Video

Place to get the Depron is www.depronusa.com. Standard sheets are 13 x 39. You can get bigger, but you don't need it for the planes, plus they charge extra for oversize shipping on the larger...

Roy, go to www.desertaircraft.com for the DA-50. List price is $549. Dave is the owner. My experience is that he's always more than happy to talk to you and answer any Q's you may have. Super...

If you're putting a gasser in this plane, get 50cc. If you do that, I highly recommend the DA-50. DA-50 lists for $549, plus muffler which is $69. Weighs only 3 lbs. Not sure what the HP is on...

Knife edge spins???

Example, go vertical as if you're going to do a hammer turn to the left. As the plane slows and stops, you hit the left rudder for your hammer turn. As the plane rotates thru the hammer turn (about...

dp edge 540

I also have a DP Edge. Running a DA-50 on it. Balanced @ 5" and all incidences are @ zero. I too had the same issues on knife edge. Either side knife edge tucked to the belly and rolled to...

Another DP Edge thread Question.

Tom, the DA is 3 lbs. I checked DA's website. 3.13 lbs with the standoff mounts, incl ign and muffler to be exact. So you'd be adding about 10-12 oz it sounds like (plus another battery pack) But...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Don,
Paul and Tom are both right. I understand the wanting more throw thing, and I've set many a plane up that way with the linkage mounted on the closest horn. Problem is that this gives the...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Rick, what's your plane weigh??? Mine's @ 15 lbs with the DA50
flies very light and floats in like a trainer. I too am using single aileron servos. 205oz torque each, no issues yet, knock wood.

dp edge and bme 50

mine with the DA-50 came out major nose heavy. And of course per the plans, I was trying to balance @ 6". built a tray in the turtle deck and mounted both battery packs there and was able to...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Guys,
I too am leary as there is a lot of aileron, and most of it is outward from the servo. I'm also using single Multiplex Jumbo Speed, 205oz of torque. Plenty of torque, but I still am...

Another DP Edge thread Question.

Scott,

My CG is @ 5", regardless of fuel because my tank is on the CG. I have a 20 oz tank, and the plane flies exactly the same @ take off as it does at landing and throughout the entire...

Another DP Edge thread Question.

Skerlock.
I mounted my fuel tank underneath the wing tube. Didn't have to add a plate, or anything for that matter. Velcro strapped in place, and it doesn't move. It's also right on the CG. ...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

last time I went out, i remembered my camera when I was 3/4 of the way to the field. I WILL get some though. Going to try to get out on Sunday afternoon. I'm leaving myself a note, on my airplane,...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Harley,
I was fortunate in that I screwed the aileron blocks in from the get go. It just didn't seem right to butt glue those blocks in place with nothing else. There's already 4 screws in the...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Don, I think you'll be happy with the plane. I have the Futaba 8U radio, so it only has dual rates. I set up low rates exactly as DP recommended, and it's very friendly. I set high rates as he...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Guys, as long as the incidence is set to whatever degree you feel appropriate, don't worry about the cowl. In other words, don't mount the engine, or set the incidence, based upon cowl position. ...

Many call them "3d Rollers". Pretty awesome manuever. Sort of like a continuously stalled rolling circle. I have a short clip of Chip Hyde doing his @ the 2002 TOC. Don't think I can attach a...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Don,
I just used some good clear tape. Wasn't worth the hassle of doing it any other way. I've glued them before, I've screwed them in before, and both ultimately end up being a hassle in the...

DP Edge flying weight

Not sure, it is what it is. Weighed things piece by piece, on a digital scale, accurate to the gram. Maybe I got lucky. It does fly very light.

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Bucket:
My DP Edge has the same characteristics you described. Must fly it all the way to the ground, but on dead stick, it does float for a long time.

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Paul, everything you said makes sense. We are on the same page. It has all along "sounded" like a thrust issue, I just wanted to make sure the incidence was correct too. When in the air, not just...

Has anyone actually flown a DP Edge with a 50 cc gasser?

Not sure if we're comparing apples to apples. I think one of us isn't getting what the other is saying. It could very well be me, as I'm not there with you when you're flying. Anyway, the stab is...
