Just to be on the safe side I would check your gear mesh between your clutchbell and the Spur, you said you stripped a spur....could be a bent pin in the transmission, take it apart and check it out....

Iwould avoid this unless you were messing around with the wires in the first place. Switching the wires willsimply make the electric motor spin the opposite way.Ihad this happen to my max along time...

I have had ez, pull, roto, and box starters...Box and roto starters are the way to go, some pull starts are decent...like the traxxas one, the pull start that came with my picco was garbage.

I haven't operated a 2.5 in years but the HSN settings sounds correct....try leaning it out in small increments, keep track of your adjustments...dont go to lean. Try setting the LSN flush then work...
