The bad servo was an original that came with the V2. Ihave some generics that Ihave to make fit, but they work just fine. Iam still testing,

I may have answered my own question regarding spar/tail boom material.  I just found out a local kite store may have what I need.  just for documentation purposes, the spar I pulled out was 27cm...
