Might want to check the brushes on your motor. If you have a few hours of flight, the motor maybe going south on you and is heating up.

I have both the Himax 2025 4200 geared 6:1 and the 2212/34. Both motors offer great performance for their catagory. the Use of either of these motors in a 40" sub 16oz foamie 3d is quite acceptable....

You'll need to gear it, and make sure you batteries are up to the task of delivery over 20A. Much more power in the 4 turn, which can deliver about 250 watts if set up correctly where as the 7 turn...

Upgrade motor for x250?

Mega 16/15/3 geared 3:1 10 cell cp1300 or HR1700AUP's HR1950 FAUP. 12x6e prop. More speed go down to a 2.5 :1 and a 10x8 or so.

Brushless Motor Question

Phasors throw magnets if the rpm's are run over IIRC 20K. These can be wrapped in kevlar. I personally would go for a mega 22 series over any phasor. Axi's a great motors lotsa torque no gearboxes....
