RE: Submerged prop lean?

Dave,

The 3rd design pic was on the water... & other than the "lean" it handled pretty well, cornering left & right equally well. Pace was comparable to other boats with similar power....

Stepped V hulls

What are the good & bad about stepped V-Hulls? I don't see many stepped V hulls around? Despite the rules often prohibiting stepped hulls,is it bad having steps in a RcV hull? If it works to make a...

RE: GAS OUTBOARD guys this is our new home

I've seen elsewhere in this forum boaters talking about a "DRY" exhaust-header flange... using PTFE rings or something instead of o-rings?
Any one know more?

RE: LiL Squirt by DaVette

Hi Dana,

I guess building a good jet hull is not as simple as slapping a big flat on the bottom of any o'll V hull? The V looks pretty flat. I would love to try one when i'm done with the hull I...

My favourite colour! Show us the underside please....

Do these RC-jet boats react like the full-size jet-boats? No throttle.... No steering!

Allways dreamed about having a perfect scale...

RE: GAS F1 INBOARD TUNNEL HULLS

Any one know of a bolt-on rear exhaust head for Zen or RCMK? I want to look into this to try move away from protruding header and carb on the I/B F1's.
I heard some experiancing reliability issues...

RE: 72

Hi Mick.

No that's a <font size="2">CAT! That hull must be for big oval racing...?  We race short sprint racing "M", but wish we had big water to run those big scale off-shore set-ups!!

If i...

RE: tuning the carb and pipe

How do you "read" the plug? Dark colour is rich? &amp; light colour is lean? What is ideal? Will running at high altitude affect the colour? We race at 1700m (5600 ft) above sea level here in...

RE: Submerged prop lean?

Dave,

i was hoping you would pick-up on this thread...after all, 99% of FSRV's in SA comes from you! Does all hardware, including rudder, have to be infront of the transom? (below the boat)
I am...

RE: Submerged prop lean?

Glen,

The idea is to run with FSRV class with something completely different. (my mission in life is to make my life as difficult as possible..LOL!!)
In our A-class there is a similar set-up...

Submerged prop lean?

I'm working on an experimental set-up with a submerged prop. (top of prop +- 5mm below hull). The problem is that the hull leans to the right when running. How do I fix it with-out planting a TON of...

RE: GAS OUTBOARD guys this is our new home

Hey Dominic,

I think SAMPBA must arrange an INTERNATIONAL INVITATIONAL race one of these days for all the Gas F1's out there that does not get proper race time.... LOL! Can you imagine Dutch,...

RE: GAS OUTBOARD guys this is our new home

Hi Ralf,

I agree with Dominic. It is a difficult choice. Concistancy is better than the fastest boat. (2nd place in our GAS-STOCK class in the national championship never won any of the 7 races......

RE: GAS OUTBOARD guys this is our new home

Biafra,

We had 10 I/B F1's and 7 O/B F1's entered in our NATS. They ran in seperate heats as the O/B F1's is very much a purist class and deserve their own limelight. What a sight to see 7 F1's...

RE: Designing and building F1 Gas Tunnel from idea to mould to boat

Hi Cobus,

Are we going to see your new boat at the NATS? Nothing like a bit of healthy competition on the water! Looks like SA is the place to be for O/B F1's..... I heard rumors of a 3rd hull...

RE: Ok to cut square flex??

I've cut plenty flex cables. Normally get Homelite flex shafts &amp; cut to length. The soldering bit on the end gets tricky. Given up trying to lead solder them. I use highest silver content...

RE: GAS F1 INBOARD TUNNEL HULLS

Check out the clip of my YPC inboard F1 running with mild mod ZEN &amp; only x460 Octura... needs more testing and setting-up to get more pace but stability is awesome!
How'sthat beautiful water. Trout...

RE: GAS F1 INBOARD TUNNEL HULLS

headers are from TFL i think. I have custom made some before using stainless elbows and self turned top-hats. Material a bit thicker so they maintain heat longer, which to me is bad. Lots of heat...

RE: GAS F1 INBOARD TUNNEL HULLS

Hulls designed for Outboard can de a challenge to convert to I/Board. My hull was set up as a K&amp;B 80 O/B in it's 1st life. Space is at a premium &amp; having ignored Dominic's good advice I came up with...
