RE: Caldera: Cheap/Alternate BS903-019 Driveshaft?

Why wouldn't it work? Pull the pin out, put the piece of fuel tubing in and put it back together..? There is still some play at that end because of the slotted hole for the pin.

RE: Why Use A Fail Safe.... See Photos!

When we went to Tucson I raced my father-in-law's RC8. Afterwards I turned the radio off. Had no idea at the time. People started yelling "who turned off their radio?!" It climbed a fence, hit a curb...

RE: BS903-109 vs BS903-110

109 is the input driven by the driveshaft.<div></div><div>110 is the output which drives the dogbones/axles, 2 per diff.

RE: Earthquake 8E new combo

One of these days I'm going to have to figure something out with my Backdraft. The motor I bought has a slightly larger diameter can and interferes with the drive shaft/spur gear carrier. I can't...

RE: Volcano EXP Pro vs. Caldera 10E

Well, we all came to the same conclusion. :) The occasional puddle isn't going to kill a Volcano, just don't soak it. And you're right, all bashers are going to break parts. Buy extras whenever you...

RE: Volcano EXP Pro vs. Caldera 10E

OT, but I had to share. :) My Backdraft has been in pieces for a few months (been WAY too busy with work). I put a set of street tires and a taller pinion on it and had it running up and down the...

RE: Volcano EXP Pro vs. Caldera 10E

I can't offer any direct experience as I don't have either, but what I DO have a Backdraft 8E, which shares most parts with the Caldera, and my dad and neighbor both have Volcanos. I've been looking...

RE: Volcano EPX tires for pavement.

I've been using these on my Lightning. They still don't last that long, but they're dirt cheap.  Unfortunately they're out of stock right now, no idea when they'll get more.<div>...

RE: Exhaust Bolts on the Volcano S30?

I'd definitely just take it in to a hardware store or email someone at Redcat asking specifically about that bolt. They'll almost definitely have some, even if they aren't for sale on the site.

RE: je$us....now main spur gear gone - Caldera 10E

FWIW on my dual 2S Backdraft I haven't had any trouble with the spur, which should be the same part. I've gone through pinions like crazy though, both spur and brass. I've eaten up one spur which was...

RE: je$us....now main spur gear gone - Caldera 10E

Not sure what any good aftermarket spurs are. I thought the Caldera had a steel spur gear? You can adjust the brake force with a programmer card. I'd get one and try setting it to 25%.

RE: Bullet Connectors stuck together.

They shouldn't be melted together unless there was some solder on one side or the other. If the heat were to get that high, you'd see the ends becoming desoldered from the wires way before the ends...

RE: sh .18 vs. vx .18.....

Increasing the bore of a cylinder generally has the effect of raising peak HP while stroke raise lower rpm torque. The VX may make more peak HP but the SH probably as a fatter torque curve and...

RE: Caldera 10E - Help w/Installation of new Frnt dogbones, Frnt Cups and Servo

Ok, I got it now.<div></div><div>#1 Yeah, the screw should self tap in that hole just fine. If it's a bit too tight try drilling it out just a bit. Obviously make sure you don't...

RE: Caldera 10E - Help w/Installation of new Frnt dogbones, Frnt Cups and Servo

You can use any horn that will fit your servo. On mine the shaft was a bit different size so I couldn't reuse the original horn, but if you can that's probably your best bet. <div>

RE: quick fix?

You're probably missing a dogbone from one side or the other. Should be pretty quick and easy to fix. I'd buy a handful of them as that won't be the last one you replace.

RE: Caldera 10E - Help w/Installation of new Frnt dogbones, Frnt Cups and Servo

The Caldera will sometimes become Broken, even though it has Strength Beyond Strength.  If you just spend 5 Minutes Alone with it you'll get it fixed. Sometimes you'll feel like the buggy has been...

I wouldn't say I've seen an issue but out of 8 or so Sumos I've seen it happen a handful of times. Mine stripped because I over tightened the motor mount screws, bored  out the holes and couldn't...

The new Sumos are 2.4ghz. No need to worry about crystals. Just make sure whoever you buy from doesn't send you old AM trucks.

RE: New redcat cars coming?

Redcat is overstocked on some of their vehicles. Sales are one way to balance it out.
