I would suggest that you do not waste your money on the CVD set up, they are not stronger than the dog bones (might actually be weaker?) and cost 3 times as much. I have broken two axle ends and bent...

Mine is still going strong on stock ESC as well. I guess all the good ones got sent to the Pacific NW.

I purchased the HPI CVD and they snapped pretty quickly too. I would just suggest buying stock axles since they are fairly cheap compared to CVDs.

I finally got my Savage XS and even though the weather is terrible, I still was able to get this truck out and start bashing it. Unfortunately I have almost completely broken the right rear upright...

Funny how the release is so clouded, sites are reporting in stock, out of stock, expected dates changing daily. I am growing tired of waiting, Iwish HPIwould just give us a release date...

Yes, I am using the stock 70 spur with the 17T pinion from Tower Hobbieshttp://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEX40&P=7and it fits better than the stock 16T, plus the quality is WAY...

Thanks for the information XGAMER777. I did order the motor mount you suggested and also ordered a 17TRobinsonRacing steel pinion and have not had any problems with the spur since I installed them....
