RE: Living in Montana has it's advantages!

Flyboywbl,

You are aware that the previous post in this thread was made in 7/9/2004? I doubt that anyone concerned even remembers this thread.
For what it's worth.

RE: do you know how to balance blades

I use a round pencil. For each blade, place the pencil on the table and place the blade on the pencil, and move it until the single blade balances on the pencil. Mark this point. When you have...

RE: do you know how to balance blades

If you add tape anywhere along the blade, you would move the CG for that blade. The only place this does not happen is if you add tape at the CG and nowhere else. The blades are only in balance if...

RE: fixed pitch vs. collective pitch

The biggest difference in my book is collective pitch can fly upside-down. Fixed pitch cannot. :D

RE: NooB in distress

I believe that your suspicions are correct, that your pitch/throttle curves are out of balance. The hover at 80-85% either says that your pitch angle is too low, or your throttle is too low. When...

RE: NooB in distress

The gyro should not be responding to the collective stick. If it is, then you may have REVO mixing enabled in your transmitter. If your gyro is a heading-hold (HH) gyro, then you should have REVO...

RE: Loctite & Instruction Manual question

In reading your posts above, I get the feeling that you are not clear on the difference between mechanical adjustment of your pitch range, and electronic adjustment (your pitch curve). Mechanically,...

RE: Loctite & Instruction Manual question

Yes, open throttle means that you can see the crankshaft by looking down the throat of the carb. Closed throttle means literally that, the throat of the carb should be closed. You should be able to...

RE: Heli Crash Video

If you saw the complete video, you will notice that this guy, after getting out of the wreck, stands and gawks at the wreck at close range. I guess that he wasn't listening to the camera man who was...

RE: Hitec radio and throttle cut problem

When you press throttle cut, the throttle servo goes to the position you have set for throttle cut. Since the main stick will move you from 0 to 100%, a throttle cut setting of -20% should move the...

RE: Autorotation

As odd as it seems, autorotation is about finding the best balance between head speed and lift. Past a certain point, additional head speed means that you're falling faster than you have to fall. ...

RE: Loctite & Instruction Manual question

That may be a description of your switch rig, but mine has two male connectors and one female. The female connector is where the battery plugs in, the other two plugs are for the receiver and...

RE: Loctite & Instruction Manual question

Sounds like you plugged the charging jack into the receiver. The charging jack connects to the battery when the switch is in the off position. The solution to your problem is the swap the other...

RE: Loctite & Instruction Manual question

Regarding the engine. If the engine is new, you're going to want to run it on a rich fuel mixture for at least the first gallon of fuel. This is necessary to supply the extra lubrication needed for...

RE: Eclipse 7 "twitch"

It does not appear to be related to any particular throttle setting. I won't be able to try anything suggested so far until the weekend. Thanks for all of the advice so far.

Eclipse 7 "twitch"

I'm flying a heli and a fixed wing plane from the same Tx with duplicate receivers. The plane flys OK, no problem, but the heli occasionally "jumps" just like a person would when getting a static...

RE: Inverted flight...

There's a period of no lift, when you're turning a heli over. In order to compensate, try accelerating upwards just before you flip over. This will give you ballistic upward movement as you invert....

RE: Please Help Me

The main reason that nitro fuel won't catch fire in a crash is that it is extremely rare that the fuel tank breaks in a crash.

I use a 7.2 AH 12V lead-acid gel cell battery. These are relatively inexpensive.

RE: Wont take off!!

You're kidding, right? [X(] The "elevator" control on a heli determines front to back tilt on the heli. It has nothing at all to do with lift. I recommend that you do some reading on what...

RE: Need help with radio glitch

Never, repeat, never coil your antenna. It can severely reduce your range, and it can make your receiver sensitive to changing magnetic fields.

RE: Slow right turn on Trex 450XL CCPM??

You can research throttle and pitch curves using the search function either here or at www.runryder.com. Hovering is not easy, and it takes a lot of practice. Do you have a simulator? If not I...

RE: QPCM range issue

Is is possible that you are getting interference on your frequency? That can cause a PCM receiver to only work at close range.

RE: Slow right turn on Trex 450XL CCPM??

In any case, a "clockwise" rotor system will not turn right as easily as left. This is because to turn right you must fight main rotor torque, and to turn left, you are aided by main rotor torque.
