RE: FUNJET

The ARC 28-47-1.5 on 4S. It's a 400W motor but I've run it past 700W. Use 60A ESC. $65 at lightflightrc.com

Cermark Alley Cat Takeoff Problem

The Cermark Alley Cat 1/4 scale has a tiny rudder and a short tail moment. That, coupled with torque, makes it very hard to take off down a narrow road lined with bushes and weeds. It quickly heads...

RE: Needle Valve setting on Jett 50 FIRE

rmenke,
Sadly I did it all wrong last weekend. I started rich and slowly went toward lean. At one point it came on the pipe. I kept leaning it thinking that I'd better be certain that I was 500...

RE: Needle Valve setting on Jett 50 FIRE

Dave, That is exactly the info I needed. I've had fairly good results when the needle valve was directly behind the motor. In this case it is 3" apart and the delay causes me to vary the mixture all...

Needle Valve setting on Jett 50 FIRE

I am going out in the a.m. with a new 40 Shrike with a Jett 50 FIRE. Ihave the needle valve mounted remotely. I always have trouble getting the mixture right, usually flown too lean. I'd like to know...

JR XP6102 Setup

My Trex 450 XL has had the masthead set up according to Bob White's movies. I have a full +/- 11 degrees of pitch. My problems begin when I try to adapt Bob White's transmitter setup to my JR XP...

RE: Little Toni O.S-91-2 stroke

For my money the 4-cycle engine of choice for the Lil Toni is a YS110. I use a 13/13N and turn about 10, 500 rpm. Tomorrow I'll try a 12/14. I read in threads here that with 30% nitro and a 12/14 the...

RE: The Whiplash X Lives Again

Thanks for the info Bob. Neither the Polecat or the short Whip tank were listed when I bought my Whips. Now I won't have to cut anything structural.

RE: The Whiplash X Lives Again

Rick,
The one mod I made to my Whip was to fit a 6 oz. slim Jett tank in the compartment. To make it fit I had to cut one structural cross piece at the rear of the space allocated to the tank. It...

RE: Engine for the Lanier Shrike 40?

Bob,
I understand and will keep the 8.8 x 8.5 in mind. Meantime I'll ask my launcher to run a bit before tossing the .15-sized Shrike level.
Thanks for the explanation.

RE: Engine for the Lanier Shrike 40?

Bob, I'm not grasping the concept of why when reducing prop size you get a better pull. I have been puzzled as to why my .15 Shrike dives toward the ground after launch. I can barely save it each...

RE: Engine for the Lanier Shrike 40?

I know, I know. But I've had lots of quickies so I thought I'd try something different. What do you mean about a fast prop for launching. With the deltas and an 8.75x9 we just aim and let go. That...

RE: Engine for the Lanier Shrike 40?

What about a Nelson Quickie 500 in a 40 Shrike? The motor is heavy. Do you think it is possible to balance it. I just happen to have one available and I think that this motor would help reduce the...

RE: Removing 1-Way Bearing

I used two sockets to drive it out and successfully installed the new drive gear. The video was very informative. Thanks to each of you that helped.

RE: WM Midget Mustang + YS 110

I'm using an APC 13/13N on my Lil Toni/YS110. I read in threads that a 12/14 would be faster.

RE: Little Toni

Rare Bear, I've been using an APC 13/13N on my Toni/110 and 30%. Have you tried that combo? Before my tach broke I was getting around 10,500. I will have to try a 13/10 and compare.
