the e-flite 480 or power 15 would both be good canidates for this plane 480 is a 250-300 watts the 15 can do 375 watts

some esc's Arm differently also when you plug in your bat do you have your throttle stick above the bottom limit, have it at the full setting? with some esc's where it see's the throttle setting when...

Its gonna fly like a wing I.E. Zagi type plane. using elevons instead of convential control surfaces. so having 4 channel experence wont help a whole lot they fly different.

I fly my 450 on a 10X8 slo fly (gws) on a nitro planes ultimate with a 20 amp e-flite esc and have No heat issues and on a fresh pack can hover that 28 oz plane tribute is much lighter than that so...

you could also go with e-flites PNP (plug -n-play) models like there cub all they need is a transmitter and reciever to get flying

get on a buddybox with this plane as it is gonna be MUCH faster than your wing dragon. otherwise you will soon have an expensive pile of sticks.

sounds to me like your looking for the Rube Goldgerg method of fixing a simple problem. Learn throttle control that left stick will go down as well as up. if that too hard then use a lower pitch...

also check your CG as you might be a bit tail heavy, also reset your elevator trim by shortning the clevis at the evelator end that would give you more down trim

kyosho ferias came in red yellow and blue ( i had a blue one) is/was a 3 channel trainer type electric.

I too love this plane although I have had to beef up the landing gear mounts as i have knocked off the gear at least a dozon times it is a very weak mounting point. I fly mine on an e-flite 450...

while I like most e-flite products. there 182 is a poor example of there wares. the fit and finish is shoddy at best. the plane is eggshell fragile and a tip stalling monster. go with the HL version...

I too could not get the spinner to fit. so gave up on it. using the 450 and 10X8 e-flit prop. this plane is a floater rolls are not quite axial and take about 1.5 sec per roll. inverted , just a hint...

keep that same motor just goto a 10X8 prop, what i fly mine on and has unlimited vertical with a 20 amp esc and dualsky 1700 Mah 3S packs

I too have replaced the skid with a tailwheel. mine 1/4" but all i did was make mine a fixed wheel. since I fly off a grass field still takes quite a but of power to taxi and rudder does just fine...

Maidened mine today e-flite 400 outrunner with APC 11X5.5 unlimited vertical 15 min flights and battery( 3S 1700 Mh dual sky battery) is not even warm when landed. she my new best friend :)

with that set up in a gearbox of 6.6:1 you can get about 21 oz of thrust, and GWS will fly well on that set up I would sugest the Formosa espically

Yes Brushless motors need a senserless controller (has 3 wires out of motor not 2)
the Zagi will fly like a bandit on any setup in the 120-150 watt range. Too many motor/gearbow/outrunners to pick...
