RE: First Monokoting Experience: How bad is bad?

Ultracote All the way!

My first covering job came out pretty darn good. At least I wasn't embarassed to show up at the field with it. My LHS had the monocote video and let me borrow it.;)

RE: Field work/assembly table....need info

Considering most of our wood is now supposedly being shipped to Iraq and I just paid almost thirty bucks for a 4X8 sheet of plywood, I'd guess the cost to be somewhere around $1,654,972.39 plus tax...

Flyin' Fanatic

The license plate says it all! Just thought I'd share the sentiment with my fellow aviation fanatics.

Is there an...

RE: CRAZY RC Pilots (Show us Pics and Vid's)

RE: Death of a Raven

It was a nice plane. Built like a freakin' tank! I'm not sure if it was all stock. If it was, it was certainly beefed up everywhere one could add some beef! Glide characteristics left alot to be...

RE: Saito .72 Start Up (New to 4-Stroke)

Saito .72 Start Up (New to 4-Stroke)

Ok fellas,

I've heard I shouldn't start my new Saito with an electric starter. I've heard I should start it backwards with a chicken stick. I've heard I should start with an electric starter and...

RE: Death of a Raven

The Dazzler, my first kit build, which had well over 40 hours of learning to build/cover, met its fate because I programmed "flaperons" into the aircraft. I flipped the switch at 1/2 of a mistake...

RE: Death of a Raven

The Raven photo here is from the first Elevator Servo failure. Fortunately the plane found the only water around which happened to be deep enough to cushion the crash. Reasonably minimal damage was...

RE: Wives....

Y'know what fellas? I pleaded with my wife to show some interest in flying R/C. She finally "fixed my wagon" with this statement:

"When you learn how to cross-stitch, I'll learn how to fly!"

Magnum .91 Four Stroke --- Buy It?

The subject line says it all. I'm considering a Magnum .91 for a Sig "Pig" bipe. I'm looking for some feedback. Yes I've skimmed through the threads for information and I'm hearing two schools of...

RE: Support your LHS

It's kind of funny that Tom McCoy has been mentioned in this thread. Back in 1998 when I was considering this hobby seriously, I visited a store that "specialized" in HO/RC hobbies. I went in there...

RE: Support your LHS

I frequent the local "Mom and Pop Shop" just up the road from me. The nearest flying club is over twenty miles away. He beats Tower prices by 10%. (Hobbico Nexstar Trainer System $325 - Hows that?!)...

RE: Sig Hog Bipe - feedback?

Any comments on landing gear? I've heard it's a bit on the weak side. Doesn't particularly care for "heavy" landings. Then again, I never cared for them either!
