RE: .15 Engine Recommedations

I love my .15 Enya!

I was given to me along with an old Futaba radio, but it was never used. Not sure how hard it would be to find an Enya now, but they made great engines then and I sure they...

RE: Saito FA-40a engine for a pylon racer? What do ya think?

The way I figure it, if I'm going to spend money, I might as well go 4-stroke.

Question:

How does Nelson, Jett, Rossi (something like that), and YS compare to each other?

Also,...

RE: Saito FA-40a engine for a pylon racer? What do ya think?

Thanks Ed. Will keep that in mind.

Don, arn't Jett engines really loud though (not only compared to 4-strokes, but most 2-strokes as well)?

Thanks guys! :)

RE: Saito FA-40a engine for a pylon racer? What do ya think?

You got any details/spec on that 4-stroker and prop (displacement, brand, prop specs, brand, what nitro and oil content in its fuel)? Thanks!!

I'm already imagining flying a corsair with a big...

RE: Saito FA-40a engine for a pylon racer? What do ya think?

Didn't realize that about 72 4-stroke is compaired to a 40 2-stroker.

Thanks for the replys so far by all! :)

Saito FA-40a engine for a pylon racer? What do you think?

I'm thinking about putting it in a 1/12th scale www.airkill.com 'Dreadnought' racer or perhaps their 1/12th scale Bearcat.

RE: New to Combat - Need Plane

Man, I don't know; I like my planes to be at least somewhat attractive. ;) Guess you can tell I'm into scale in a big way! :D I think JK Aerotech is an excellent compromise of looks to pure...

Recommended Engines for high speed 1/12 (Newbe Question)

I'm looking specifically for an engine to match JK Aerotech's Mig 3 or P51 or for a 1/12 scale racer (like Airkill's Dreadnought or Bearcat).

Please also give info. on engines just above...

RE: Newby Question - day to day pros and cons - 2 stroke vs 4 stroke

2-stroke usally have a better 'power' to weight ratio. There are some 2-strokes that are like bricks. Enya is a nice, light, but powerful example.

Exception example: Saiko is a 4-stroke only...

RE: What's With AirKill?! Please Help!

Thanks for the link! Pre-built glass fuselage and all for $100! To bad they're only 3-channel. I really like their Hellcat and Ki61.2. I'll have to keep it in mind. Their Typhoon doesn’t look as...

DrCR

This thread is a good example of how rumors get started

Well, I saw and spoke to Jeff Weiss personally this week-end at a scale warbird race in Sacramento. I can assure you that his...

RE: What's With AirKill?! Please Help!

They are likely structually sound for a .40 2-stroke, provided you ensure a good firewall to fuselage sheeting joint, with some glass or something to distribute the forces.
I wouldn't recommend...

RE: What's With AirKill?! Please Help!

DrCR,

Jeff Weiss owned AirKill. The latest e-mail address I have for him is: [email protected]

Yeah, I emailed him at that address a few days ago. I hope I get a response.

He was...

RE: What's With AirKill?! Please Help!

I don't know about the other gusy that used to make combat scale planes. It is difficult to stay in business if you run only 50 or 60 copies before obsoleting a design. You never recover your...

RE: What's With AirKill?! Please Help!

AirKill went out of busness when combat pilots quit buying exploding balsa designs that required too much time to build.

Yeah, I had that feeling. I wanted to just fly them as sport models...

What's With AirKill?! Please Help!

I'm really interested in some of www.airkill.com 's products, but it the site doesn’t look up-to-date and has a lot of bad links. I called their phone number listed on their site (916-332-4661) and...
