I too have a Wing B25 on the table. (Actually, it's not on the table 'cause I'm hung up on building operating gear doors, but that's another story!) Obviously, it's not been flown. The current...

RE: OK gujys, I need help on CG

Generally it means 5 1/4" back from the LE of the wing at the root chord. Or think of it this way: draw a line down the middle of the bottom of the fuselage lenthwise from the motor to the tail,...

RE: tried tinting canopy, didn't work

I sprayed the inside of my Kaos canopy with some of the tranparent green (there's blue, red, and gray as well) Testor's or Pactra enamel. It came out OK, but you've got to use very light coats as it...

RE: Painting over ultracoat????

I did the trim/anti-glare panels on my P-47 using Krylon Fusion over Ultracote. I thought that because Fusion is designed to spray directly on plastic it might bond better on Ultracote, and to some...

RE: WING B-25 Build questions

FWIW, I measured the wing. One the plan, it's 15.25" from LE to TE on my set of plans (which includes the LE and TE pieces). My wing came out at 15", and fits with plenty of (too much??? )...

RE: WING B-25 Build questions

I don't recall seeing anything like this during my Wing build, but I'll go downstairs tonight and dig out my wing and compare it to the plans. Since the wing ends up being foam sheeted with balsa,...

RE: cold weather tuning

I think the prevailing wisdom is to run the engines slightly richer in cold weather. The theory behind this is that colder air is denser than warm, so for each combustion cycle more oxygen is...

RE: Top Flight p-47/60

I'm trying to figure out if you're going to paint it or go with whateverKote. There are lots of tutorials on RCU about how to apply a fiberglass base-layer, and on the P47 this might yield better...

RE: Top Flite Mustang combination

That should be a good combination, unless the P51 is overly heavy due to retracts, operating tail wheel, paint job, etc.

Where you might have some concerns, especially if this is your first 4S,...

RE: Edf jet barely flickers and battery is getting way hot. Please help!!

In one of your prior posts you describe the speed control a having "... having yellow and green motor cables ..." It sounds like you have a speed controller for a brushed motor, and you need a...

RE: Nitroplanes Black Friday/Cyber-Monday Wish-List

Maybe something on one of the small, park-flyer sized T-28's?

RE: Hangar 9 Arrow Trainer

I flew mine with a Magnum 46 2S, with good vertical performance and the ability to do just about any aerobatics, short of 3D, that you might want. I put a Magnum 72 4S on it just to see the...

RE: H9 60 size bluenose P-51 wing

I didn't like the standard wing set up, so I epoxied the wing into a single piece, and then added 1/4x20 T-nuts to the bottom of the wing bolt plates. Then I mounted the wing by with 1/4x20 nylon...

RE: Wheel Pants!!

Especially in this case.

Your idea about installing the bolts from the inside would work, although I find trying to tighten small nuts kind of a pain.

What surprises me is that you have...

RE: Wheel Pants!!

From the sound of it, maybe you're happier with the wheel pants off.

Without seeing the actual wheel pant construction, about all I can give you is a general guide. (1) Mount a 3/32" or 1/8"...

You win the lottery :D I've got the instructions, as well as a single sheet of plans that show both the wing construction and a side view of the fuselage.

PM me with your address and I'll ship...

RE: Pica Trojan

I'm pretty sure I've got the set of plans and the instructions, I just need to find them. I'm pretty sure there's a side-view of the fuselage, but it's been about 5 years so my memory isn't too be...

Let me go downstairs and dig tonight; I think I've got my instruction manual from the Pica kit. If I can find one, I'll copy it and send it to you.

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Well, if it wasn't a total goner last Sunday, it was after the trip to the garbage can this morning! :( Worst of all, I'm not sure what happened to the bug. Better luck with yours.

It broke the...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Biker:

I can go look at my radio settings and tell you where I had my flaps set, but it looks like they deflect about 1/8-3/16" on the first position and around 3/8" on full down. Probably...

So far I've had good luck with mine. But I've not seen either of the problems you describe, especially the second unit stopping and starting. Is it trying to reset itself? Does it end...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Biker:

Your US 60 sounds like it flies a lot like mine. It doesn't like to slow down, and gets mushy and will stall. Or at least it did until I dropped the flaps! Then it's a totally...

RE: Best way to remove & recover a small wing section?

To me, it'd depend on the overall condition of the covering on the wing. If the whole covering job is looking pretty ratty, I'd just recover the entire wing.

But if the over all condition is...
