RE: cell phones and planes

Yeah I saw where you were a ham, and I've seen postings from you that said you're around 50, but I don't remember when you posted them.

As to multiple cells, the tech I know says that's not an...

RE: cell phones and planes

That's what I said, they are slow to move and when they do it's in the wrong direction.

The previous explanation was pretty close to correct except for a couple points. It did not pertain to...

RE: cell phones and planes

You can not get what you consider a straight answer. First, I know some cell phone engineers and they have told me that with the AMPS system you can and will cause problems with the towers if you...

RE: IFR

I don't think you should use that as the only criteria for obtaining an IFR rating. I believe that it's a useful thing to have because many days you would like to fly you can't because of a thin...

RE: cell phones and planes

Short answer is the govt says you can't.

The long answer backed by the appropriate regulations follows.

RE: Jomar Optical ignition Kill???

I bought one, tried it and took it off because my servo's jittered like they were possessed. It's not a good isolator in my opinion. Buy another one instead of this.

RE: Real Flight G3!

Did you even check out Elite's product and website? X-Plane is not the first flight sim to be certified, you'll notice I said "his out" is consumer priced. The other products are very expensive,...

RE: Real Flight G3!

His software by the way has been certified for quite some time now, it's not a new thing, I think version 5 was certified for training.

In any even, what plane do you fly?

I fly my Cessna...

RE: Real Flight G3!

This is the first time ANY consumer-priced software has EVER gotten this certification

Notice the way he takes his out, consumer-priced. It's not the first plain and simple, you've been sucked...

RE: Real Flight G3!

BS. The sim does not need to handle correctly to be certified, look at Elite. Real poor software yet certified.

I don't know what kind of plane you fly, but if my Cessna flew like those in the...

RE: Real Flight G3!

As a pilot I can tell you that what you call "top real flight sims" are but a toy compared to the real thing. X-Plane is IMO better than Microsoft FS9 but it's not realistic in all aspects.

RE: Diaphram gasket goes bad in less that 1 hour?

Don't believe that info you got, it's probably not true. My Dad used to drive a tanker and I can tell you that many gas stations get their gas from the same plant.

As to water, it's a non...

Is a link about that crash. Looks like they run out of fuel, sad to destroy a plane over that.

PS, another...

RE: Long EZ Builders?

N207MC, N538AJ, N38MK, N98VP, N97TX are but a few that are without ntsb reports. I'm sure there are many more because a homebuilder does not need to include the manfacturer name in the model, so the...

I agree that you don't see a lot of young people flying, but there are some. If you want more in your area then the burdon is on you to provide those people. Go to the schools around you and invite...

RE: Dave Patrick Extra, is ZDZ 40 enough?

Well, what some people get and others don't is that, One this is a gas forum.

Two, the weight difference is not very much at all, if you look up the figures the Moki 1.8 is 41 oz, the ZDZ 40...

I have one of these, I put it on the plane a year ago and it glitched so bad that at 15 feet it was scary to watch. I took it off and all was well. In my opinion save your money, it's not useful...

Yes, I'm in the EAA and have done some of their welding classes and also have read their material.

It's kind of strange, but I never thought that the welding I learned would be useful in RC. As...
