RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Getreal,

Go to a "runner's" shop and get a pair of "running gloves". They are light weight, but warm. Should be able to feel the sticks better thru them. Not sure anything will work in...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Can anyone help me in telling me how to determine what outrunner motor to use with, what size/weight plane for 3D'ing???

I want to use a HiMax Outrunner with a eFlite Yak54, with plenty of power...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Dmack,

Thanks for the words. I am still playing with mine. Haven't given up on it, if flys too good doing normal aerobatics. I will address the elevator, I know I have too much throw. I...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Actually, Pale....

It flys pretty well, other than the snap stuff and it doesn't seem to be the answer for a 3D bird.... but as far as just plain flying, basic aerobatics.... it does nicely.

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Sean,

Nope, not running any mixes. There is something that isn't right with this bird. I will keep playing with it until I find it. Someone mentioned a warped wing.... I don't see it, but...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Sean,

Yep, I can fly a smooth loop, but when I add that extra "umph", it snaps out. I really have never had a plane that was as violent as this when it snaps out of a loop. I want it to...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Chris,

Yep, I "semi-checked" lateral balance and it is close, not sure if I can help it with doing anything, but will try. I think you said you used only a "dime" on a wingtip? Amazing...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey GetReal,

I have no hinge gap. Thanks for the suggestion. Don't think that would cause the snap problem I am having.

This is one fast bird, it flys like it's on rails, until you do...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Yep, I think..... I will have to look, but I ususally use a little expo, 10% or so.

I like the way it flys fast other than the snap out of the loops, but it's so unstable at high alpha stuff,...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Ok guys,

I just got back from flying my ME 540. It flys ok, but I am having a huge problem with it snapping out of a tight loop and snapping when I try to get it in a hover.

I am not a...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

My Edge lands like it's on rails..... very slow and stable..... I haven't had a calm day yet, to get it set up for 3D'ing, but I think the plane will be great...... we will see.

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Getreal,

Was that you with the "first flight with the Blade CX" video, posted on 11/23/05?

If that's you, your doing fine. Loose the training sticks. The little electric heli's are...

Hey GetReal,

I had the a XRB cordless for awhile..... right now, I wish I had it back! ;) Nothing better for practicing all upright orientations.

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

During the Fall and Winter, wind is off and on here..... sometimes it's non-existant, but this week it's been high.... all week. Guess it's because I was on vacation and knew I wanted to fly the...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Sean,

Yep, I flew one battery pack, the wind was about 20mph, so I didn't get to really do anything that will tell me how it really flys. It is definitely NOSE HEAVY, so I will start by...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Jeff,

Have you tried the ME on a small battery pack? I only have 2100 packs at this time, but wonder if lightening the load would make a difference?

I hope I have better luck with my...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

No doubt the T-Rex is the king...... but the price of the Ark X400 is the king of low prices and it's pretty much a copy of the T-Rex, with more Bling and it uses a metal frame instead of the plastic...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

So Sean, that is the Park 400 Outrunner you are using.... heck, 1/2 throttle hover is all anyone needs. I think a Yak is in my future ! I also would like to see a built up E-Yak !

Anyone tried...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Sean,

Are you running a Outrunner on the Eflite Yak 54? If not, have you heard what the best Outrunner is for it? BTW, I'm a HiMax fan, plus our only local hobby guy keeps them in stock. ;)

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey flyguy,

I am using a HiMax 2816-0890 Outrunner, I was going to use the HiMax 2025-4200 but decided to go strictly outrunners. Tired of fooling around with gears. I think the 2025-4200 would...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Chris,

I didn't do a lateral balance.... thanks for reminding me to do that.... I bet it could be my problem in the loops !!!

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey Jason and gang,

Jason, you are totally correct. There is a difference and it's quite a bit, but at this point, unless he tears the beast apart (ie. mess), flying it is about his only option....

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Hey RcHeliGuy89,

My opinion is FLY IT ! Not enough off to make a difference on these little beasts. Have fun and stay safe !
