RE: focus II

I assume that you are asking about the Central Hobbies Focus II. There's a forum here in RCU that covers the entire build. 1431697 is the forum number. It says the balance point is at the front of...

RE: mounting a large brushless need mount help

Greg Covey shows how to make mounts using PVC pipe fittings on his site. These can be very inexpensive and make a very ridgid and light weight mount. Hobby Lobby also sells aluminum mounts that...

RE: When a transaction goes bad?

My experience in small claims court is: 1) You can win if you have the documentation. 2) Even though you won, you may never be able to collect a dime. There's nothing that will compel the other...

RE: Hanger 9 and E-flite parts

Thanks.

I'll bookmark their page. You might want to try www.rcslot.com too. They had all the parts that I needed to repair a mini- showtime that someone tossed away. All it needed was a new...

RE: AXI 2826/12 still in production?

Thanks Plane-addict. I don't want to hijack Yak13's thread.

I was looking at this too. I think I saw them at the NEAT Fair last year. I may go this way.

I've got several AXI and Jeti ESC...

RE: AXI 2826/12 still in production?

Hey Yak13,

Did you ever get your AXI? I've been waiting since the end of April for the same motor and a 4120/18. I've been getting "2 week'd" to death on them. Now it looks like the end of...

RE: servo mistery

You can use ferrites on the servo extensions. Put a couple of loops of the extensioon through it close to the receiver. They will trap the noise.

RE: Ryan STA

Download the manual for the ST-M also. It has some better details than the STA manual does.

Be careful when installing the wheel pants. There was an on-line article somewhere that had a better...

RE: How to inlarge wing tubes

IMO you're better to modify the socket, not the tube.

You can use an xacto knife to scribe a line on the tube axially. Scribe the line about 3/8" lg. This will raise a burr on the tube. If...

RE: Horny Hinge Points??

I did a quick search on Google.

There are a few places that still have them.

My search was "horny hinge point". They're listed at the first web site under pacer/robart.

Example:

RE: Would you still fly R/C if ARFs Went Away??

Like anything else, If you want to do it well, you have to learn the basics first.

Everyone should learn how to build a plane from a kit first- please make it a basic slab sided box with a...

RE: what lipos on my GP rayan 120

I think you're going to be disappointed with the 5320.

I was conviced that this was the way to go on mine too. The performance will not be adequate for this plane given the weight and power to...

RE: 84in. Cessna conversion to EP

I agree with the posts here.

I electrified my GP Ryan STA 1.2 with much of the advice given here. I also got some electric conversion programs. Motocalc and Electricalc. Both work well and...

RE: GP Ryan STA electric conversion sizing motor, esc, and batteries

Time to mount the motor.

It looks like there is quite a bit of side offset if I line up on the factory embossed cross hares on the firewall. With the electric motor, do I install with the same...

RE: GP Ryan STA electric conversion sizing motor, esc, and batteries

Here's the set up.

HL gave me the same deal on the package, substituting the Jeti 90 for the 77, + the difference for the 90.

AXI 4130/16
Jeti Advance PLUS 90
Thunder Power 3S2P 4200...

RE: GP Ryan STA electric conversion sizing motor, esc, and batteries

Is that 14 flights total? Or just with the 18" prop?

Is the motor under warranty?

I'm curious to know the outcome. From everything that HL had to say, the motor "sounds" just about bullet...

RE: GP Ryan STA electric conversion sizing motor, esc, and batteries

I haven't received a reply from HL, so I went to their web site and the have a GP RYAN STA 1.20 listed in their conversions section now.

They went with the 4130/16 set up that you also posted. ...

RE: GP Ryan STA electric conversion sizing motor, esc, and batteries

This is an update of my data from about a month ago. I entered the AXI 53XX series data and came up with this combination. Cost looks good as does performance. Nothing against Hacker, just more...

RE: GP Ryan STA

There's a write up on this site or RC Groups, that I found. They used RTV silicone to help hold the pants on and make it kind of a soft mount. They claimed that they didn't have any issues. I'm...

RE: GP Ryan STA electric conversion sizing motor, esc, and batteries

That's the correct one.

BTW- Thanks for the input.

As far as the build, it's built fairly light, but there's little opportunity to lighten it further w/o de-constructing it. It's 10.5 lbs...

I've had the opportunity to build two of these, and three wings. The first was only a good flyer but the second flew great. The first one was lost in a car accident.

My first one was the...
