RE: What Mode is this?

My 6EXA will do mode 3 and 4. I did it once at the flying field while attempting to switch to model 3. I had to return home and read the manual before I could go back to flying.

RE: Uproar or Fun51?

I put a couple of flights on my Uproar today. It has been a very tough and durable plane. I broke the fuse behind the wing about a hundred flights ago. It is an easy fix and I had it back out flying...

RE: Hi - Stupid Question from a Newbie

If making it pretty does not matter to you, bringing the antenna out the rear of the fuselage and letting it flap in the breeze works just fine. This may even be less likely to break the antenna...

RE: things we say when we crash

On the spectacular midair two weeks ago, "WOW"
And the demise of the pylon racer last week, "That's a little low."

RE: Second Thoughts...

Something you may want to look into is some of the brushless electric 3D planes. You'll learn fast on one and have a plane that you can fly many places other than the flying field. They are a little...

RE: Slowstick 400

We have had very good results with the Slow Stick 300 using 8.4v NiMH batteries 1100 - 1200 mAh and Hitec flight packs with the 555 receiver and HS-81 servos. The GWS receivers are fine for flying in...

RE: Hobbico Superstar trainer (more questions)

We just got back from the flying field. For some reason, I asked the kid to loan me his radio at the end of the night and put the 144th flight of the year on our Superstar with a 40LA. I hadn't flown...

RE: Hobbico Superstar Gas plane

I learned on a RTF Superstar last year. I did considerable damage to it in December and replaced it with the ARF version. The second one has 142 flights on it and is going strong. My 10 year old son...

RE: Humidity and Engine Performance

Large changes in temperature or humidity require a little retuning of the carburetors on our engines. Same goes for any performance, naturally aspirated engine.

RE: ESC for AXI 2208/34 Help

Last I knew the CC ESCs were in stock at http://www.aeromicro.com I have been very happy dealing with these folks.

RE: IS FLUTTER BAD?????

Our Superstar was grounded for a similar condition. When the most experienced flier at the club pointed out that if my son was making a low pass and the flutter caused the aileron to leave the plane...

RE: Question re instructing. Aussie related too.

In this neck of the woods, soloing requires that all instructors and advanced pilots are sitting comfortably in their chairs waiting to applaud when the plane returns safely to earth. This can be...

RE: stuff from hobby-lobby.is this good?

I'm using the inexpensive Hobbico Quick Field DC Charger MKII 12 Volt. I have read some comments that it does not have enough bells and whistles for the LiPo's, but I've been very happy with it.

RE: What products to buy to make slow stick fly?

We are flying them with HS81 servos, Hitec 555 receiver, and Electrifly C10 or any other cheap 10A or better ESC. We use the stock 300C motor and gear box and a 1100 or 1200 mAh 7 cell (8.4 volt)...

RE: stuff from hobby-lobby.is this good?

I would not recommend going that route unless it is what you have. With the 2208/34 and everything else as light as possible the plane accelerates nicely out of a hover. Knife edge loops are as easy...

RE: How many of you have lost an airplane, literally?

Here is my sons story of the fly away Slow Stick:

I was flying my electric Slow Stick and asked my dad how to speck it out like he did. So I did what he said and sure enough specked it out down...

RE: stuff from hobby-lobby.is this good?

I highly recommend Hobby Lobby for everything except the Shock Flyer itself. Make some phone calls and see who has the shock flyers in stock. The wait for the shock flyers on back order from Hobby...

RE: MDS 40 engine

I got two MDS engines at a swap meet last year for $20. The .46 runs so well I could hardly wait to get the .40 on a plane. After 10 days of tuning and dead-stick landings I solved my problems with...

RE: I am getting very anxious

I also look forward to Minns advice and find it very valuable, but have to differ with him here. Get the Slow Stick, set the rudder up on the left stick and learn to fly the rudder. I set my 10 year...

RE: dazzler control surface! help

The Uproar is a very nice flying plane and I assume the Dazzler is also. I would highly recommend flying with an instructor for several flights. The plane takes off very nicely, flies great and is...

RE: dazzler control surface! help

I built an Uproar (basically the same plane) last year as a second plane. It did not last long. I tried again this year and am having a great time flying it. It has a plenty fast roll rate, will snap...

RE: Best way to stop tail on Ikarus shockie from twisting?

I am sure the kid and I get the tail of our first Shocky twisted nearly 30 degrees. I don't see any problem with it. Our only problem is that when we dork a landing on grass we have to get the Super...

I've been using the Hobbico Quick field DC charger MKII for three months. I have had nothing but good results charging 3S 1500mAh packs regularly. For the last week I have been charging three 2S...
