What "will not travel as far as the other"? The elevator halves, or the servo arms themselves? Perhaps your friend didn`t mean "meter", but rather the HT-Programmer which is used to set servo center...

That`ll work! ....Also, keep your eyes open online for Giant Scale CA hinges. They are exactly 2X`s larger than standard. I use them in everything up to 25% scale, and they work great....
