RE: Cooling fan on esc

Thank you for the reply. BEC is usually 6.0 volts right? I found a little fan good for 6 volts.

Cooling fan on esc

I have a Castle Sidewinder ESC that gets hot when I am not doing high speed driving. I want to add a small cooling fan to keep the air flowing over it. Can I just splice the fan into the ESC to...

RE: need help

It looks like an HPI to me. It has HPI purple all over it and the belt drive and battery location remind me of HPI cars. It looks like it has an after market chassis though which makes a bit...

RE: What Brand To Buy?

I have a Tamiya right now and the parts support at my local hobby stores is minimal. My favorite online retailer doesn't even carry many parts. Because of this, I am considering a RTR HPI Sprint for...

RE: tire shopping for my ta-05

I have never used foams, what is the wear like on them? That is the most important thing to me, I can't be spending $30 on tires every week. Thanks for the responses.

RE: The Official Tamiya TA05 Thread

I thought I would dig this thread up since I have a few questions.

Where do you all get parts for your ta-05's? I am trying to find some spur gears, LHS didn't have any, don't see them on tower....

tire shopping for my ta-05

Hi everyone,

I have the stock tires on my ta-05 (fxx kit) and they have been pretty good but they are starting to wear now that I have my sidewinder system. What are some good replacement slicks...

RE: Looking for a new truck

I am interested in how the slash 4x4 drives but I really would like solid, locking diffs. I plan to get some air in it, drive a little on the road, and on mostly rough terrain. After reading some...

RE: Looking for a new truck

I just stumbled across the axial scx10 and I am very impressed. I think it is exactly what I want. Never dealt with axial before but I think I may have to get this! Locking diffs and solid axles, i'm...

Looking for a new truck

Hey everyone,

I've been out of the hobby for a few year and really like what i see with all the new 4x4 trucks. I initially wanted to get a slash 4x4 but I don't like that it has open diffs and...

RE: The Official Tamiya TA05 Thread

Well it says it can handle 100 amps but I don't want to worry about exceeding that with the 7700. I can't run a 7 cell on my tami, unless I get a hump and zip tie it or something. I found some pretty...

RE: The Official Tamiya TA05 Thread

Lets say I run the 7700 on the TA-05, anyone have any clue how many amps I will be pulling on the stock gearing? Or more importantly, are there gears available for the TA that will allow me to run...

RE: The Official Tamiya TA05 Thread

That mamba 7700 is looking nice, I expect I may have to gear pretty low to prevent melting something. Castle has 25% on their site through March, so that makes it cost about $190 on there. Anywhere...

RE: HPI E-Firestorm or CEN ME10?

RE: Getting read to start my first build

Talking about oil weight alone doesn't mean much. Different shock pistons can make a huge difference. Just experiment a little, I keep several different bottles. Your kit should come with everything...

RE: worst rc car youve owned

Very interesting to read the comments about the traxxas vehicles breaking. My Bandit and stampede are the toughest cars i've owned. The only part on my t-maxx i broke was a rear bulkhead. Heck, the...

RE: The Official Tamiya TA05 Thread

How do you all set the belt tension? I just kinda fingered it so it wasn't too tight but where it's not so loose that it will skip teeth.

RE: The Official Tamiya TA05 Thread

Hey everyone, I just finished up my TA-05 a few days ago. I bought it to re-introduce myself to the hobby after a couple years on hiatus. I usually drive offroad nitro models so thought id do a 180...

RE: tt-01 rally

I love that rs4 rally but i'm worried about finding parts for it now that it's discontinued. Are enough of its parts interchangeable with the other rs4s?

tt-01 rally

I went to my LHS today and saw a tt01 lancia delta. I've been looking at getting a rally car but my question is, are the tt01s with the rally bodies any different from the standard tt01? I am looking...

RE: What is the the better battery li-ion or lipo

LiPos are based on the technology of li-ions but liPos have a flexible casing and tend to be more damage resistant. Other than that, I don't really know the difference. Also, li-ions tend to be used...

RE: Steering bellcrank question

Have you gotten it off? You can also try using the tip of a knife to pry on it.

RE: Steering bellcrank question

Are you having trouble removing the e-clip? If so, just get a fine tipped pliers, grip, and pull. Or if you have a fine tip screwdriver, you could try and pry it off.

RE: What is a good battery temp?

By lower his gearing I actually mean increase the gear ratio. It seems like he is overworking his batts.
