RE: Who's got the cheapest modelectric coil?

I don't think this will work.
The TIP42 will pass 12 volts to that poor little 6 Volt (MAX) coil.
I do know that I have experimented with 12 V on the coil that comes on a Ryobi.
It sparks hot...

RE: Oil content for Saito 180 gasser?

Isn't Aluminum more abrasive than bronze? I think you would need more oil on aluminum.
I'm also not convinced that cooling will be an issue. Yes, the alcohol cools a glow engine, but take a look...

RE: elec ignitions. where are they?

Fancy?
C&H aint fancy, but at least it says something.

Personally, I think Ralph is missing out on business because he has nothing to show us.

He may not be fluff, but Brillo sure comes...

RE: JEH Ignition

Thanks, I noticed just before I came here today, that the paragraph before the "complete ignition" says that it is not complete. I guess the simple part of me bit on the word complete and expected...

RE: JEH Ignition

In my thinking, the electronic ignition is not a need for speed thing.

I want the lighter weight and easier starting, but I don't want to lose any power.

C&H is not out of the question for...

RE: Ryobi 31cc engine mount

I dinked around a bit with some scraps from work and came up with much the same thing I see here. I tried my rails horizontal and vertical.
I had 2 issues:

RE: JEH Ignition

Well Ralph, I'm not sure what to say.
I've seen your posts and I'm not sure what your ignitions costs, what it looks like, or if I want it.
I've checked out your web site(s) at rcignition.net and...

RE: Ryobi 31cc engine mount

I'll second this nomination!

Peter sells 2 different sizes.
I bought the larger one because I wanted room to "fiddle" while I experiment. I think the shorter one would work out a LOT better...

I'm dealing with a few "issues" with my first JEH.

I work in an electronics shop so I'm slightly fortunate to be able to do some "tests" durning lunch and break.

I'd like to offer a couple...

RE: Need help with ryobi ignition

OK, let me take back what I said.
While I can get a spark with the rope on a weedy, I can't get one by flipping my prop. (just finished stage 1 of my first Ryobi)

I have the stock flywheel...
