I would start by changing the oil mix. 16:1 is alot of oil!! I run Amsoil 50:1. Runs great and never had problems.

I've been told by a bunch of people to run 20:1 mix. mbbaj2001 do you have a higher compression engine? I'm interested why you run higher octane gas? Thanks.

What spark plug do you recommend for a mid mod homelite 25cc in a 52" deep vee hull. I am running 87 octane with 20:1 amsoil. Do I need a resistor plug?Thanks.

Well I took the carb and velocity stack off last night. The screen in the carb was clean as new and I blew it out to make sure. I didn't have to worry about the holes and gaskets not being lined up...

If the Big bore carb is such a problem why does every Homelite I see for gas boats use them? Most every website also promotes the big bore carbs. What's the logic behind it? Where can I find a 167...
